"For me, it will just be one hell of a good show."
*
I'll tell you how that show ends Dan, in the interest of time. In October 2010 unemployment is 9.8-9.9%. Interest rates, which somehow have de-linked from the Fed rates are on the rise. The dollar index is at a new low. A very frustrated electorate composed of highly motivated Republicans and disaffected Independents turns out en masse to cast their votes in favor of a ham sandwich as opposed to continuing with the incumbent incompetent Marxist crowd. The result? Why, it's the same as election day 2009, it's you and your ilk face-down behind a dumpster covered in your own piss.
*
You see, it doesn't really matter what travails the Republican Party has between now and then. We'll overwhelmingly benefit from your gross incompetence, which is becoming more apparent with each passing day. Even Gallup has the supposed reviled Republican brand leading by 4 points on the generic ballot - if that number goes to 7% your majority is toast. Other pollsters applying a LV model have you even deeper in the hurt locker.
*
Look on the bright side, though. I hear that yellow is a good color for guys like you.

If she got hosed as bad as some are suggesting, then she did one hell of a crappy job making her case. If this information and endorsements were around prior to her tanking, then what happened ? Could it be that her
"conservative " credentials were stuffed in a closet for fear she would get spanked by an electorate she or her handlers thought might be shifting to the left ? Just a question.
If she was someone who was an acceptable conservative and yet was dispatched by conservatives, then she has a real disconnect with the electorate, her base and the media. If this is the case, she also has a real issue in putting together a campaign and staff competent enough to tell her story.

Gnarly is correct. Scuzzifazool, or whatever, is just fodder for the anti-GOP anti-conservative media, which is playing up GOP divisions and the NY race, and failing to give much post- election coverage to the smashing Republican victories in virginia and New Jersey. Notice there's been NO "lamestream" media, as Bernie Goldberg calls them, about Mcdonnell, Bolling AND Cuccinelli carrying very Democratic Fairfax County? Nor, the upset wins in the House of Delegate races. For four years, the Democrats and washington post have tried to demoralize Republicans by continuously saying we have a demographic shift in Northern Virginia. Yet, when Chris christie wins in Jersey, or a arch conservative like Ken Cuccinelli kills his liberal opponent, the Post and others in the media are just as flummoxed as they are with that muslim nutcase in Ft. Hood and their inability to call him a muslim terrorist. What happened in New york was a fluke. NY has always had a successful Conservative Party, and i believe, a liberal party, where losers of the Dems and Reps. can run on the other party slates. Scuzzbag is making herself look like a victim because she's a liberal and woman, and CNN, NY Times are eating it up because they won't stop until they destroy conservativism.

You have never really made it until you have been called a member of the "mob" by a leftist. Talking points gratis of Bill Clinton, dispersed via left wing blogs: "Please use mob, tea-bagger, witch hunt, etc in your discussions, it is imperative we paint these so called constituents or citizens as unbalanced as a means to push our leftist agenda down the ignorant masses throats."

What was really painful was working on the McCain campaign, the candidate the middle of the roaders said was the ONLY one that could win because the electorate and/or mood of the country was left of center. Crushing defeat and a dose of Hopey Changey will usher in a little reflection for all of us in the republican party. When the squishy middle of the Republican party agrees with you and RD over conservatives, and backs candidates like Specter (as long as they want to stay around with an R by their name) and Dede, it is time for us to push back. BTW, your indignation over Dede's treatment is entertaining.

Don't choke on the popcorn, sometimes it gets a little dry when you are crying.

LL, there you go again with the "for it before he was against it nonsense."
.
When did it become a horrendously horrible thing for someone to change his mind? I would like to think that being willing to recognize when one has made a mistake would be a virtue, rather than something to mock.
.
For the record, I changed my mind once, and that's it. I defended Dede when it appeared she was getting smeared and supported her because she was the Republican in the race. When she dropped out and endorsed the Democrat, I denounced her for doing so. I stand by that.
.
The fact that I'm now saying she didn't get a fair shake isn't me reverting back to my original stance. If she runs again, I wouldn't support her because of her lack of guts and her endorsement of the Democrat, even though I understand why she did it.
.
If anything I'm trying to be fair. I give her the benefit of the doubt now without spending a couple of hours researching her claims because she's more credible than Palin, Limbaugh, Beck and others who had something to gain when they made the statements they made. She quit. She lost. She's got no reason to lie about her record.

Nathan (glad you're back on here again), the only way she could have won that race would have been if Hoffman had never gotten involved. At that point, in a straight up fight between the Ds and Rs in the 23rd, I think we would have won.
.
Otherwise, I agree with you. Her campaign was horrible, and the fact that she didn't effectively counter (or even anticipate) some of the stuff that was said was evidence of a bad campaign.

Loudoun Lady, the woman has been a Republican office holder for years. Until recently she held a leadership position in the state legislature and was involved in formulating economic policy that most objective observers would fairly describe as conservative. It is hardly unreasonable that Brian or any other Republican would assume that her public statements were most likely accurate and truthful. Likewise, when some pretty wild eyed and incredible statements were made about her it is reasonable to think those same folks might want some actual evidence as to the truthfulness of those wild accusations.
.
You are welcome to your opinion that my use of the terms mob and witch hunt are over the top. As a member of the mob I wouldn't expect you to take a dispassionate look at the mob mentality that is at play here. It is something that is not subject to reason, hence the unwillingness to examine facts and evidence that might spoil the fun. It is something that will play itself out over time. No one is going to slow it down by trying to reason with it.
.
This will be painful for someone like Brian who wants to build a party and put together a conservative coalition with which to govern. For me, it will just be one hell of a good show.
.
Pass the popcorn.
