I remember the county supporting it in some way, but don’t remember if it was direct sponsorship, or TOT funds, or what.

Did the County give this guy 200k for the polo tournament US Cup they sponsored in 2007? From what I am reading it appears he duped many sponsors who now claim they were never sponsors of the event — much of the money from this charity event can’t be found etc. Did Loudoun get stiffed by these cons too?

No Mr. Ed, actually I don’t hate horses. I used to ride them regularly on land that is now part of Tyson’s when I was a kid.

I enjoyed it immensely, but perhaps outgrew the tween-girl worship, hence I don’t get misty-eyed when people who happen to enjoy the hobby misbehave.

Well LI, in a way it’s a horse country story, and the Post is a horse country paper.

His parents are legit and built legitimate businesses, and it seems he’s given them no end of very unseemly public grief–maybe this is his long overdue spanking?

They’re also a “look over there!” paper, depending on the issue.

I just got a chance to look through today’s WaPo. Not one, but two stories about these tools and an op-ed with photo. Stories on A3 and the front page of Style section, again. Something is up with the WaPo and this – there’s just waaaay too much ink being used on this.

The real problem the tax dollars are almost gone. The government workers and subcontractors have raped America. And soon the money will be gone. Almost identical to Stalin. And others in history. Then they the government starts to look for scape goats.

I’m still of the opinion that it’s most likely someone TOLD the agent on duty to let it slide–trained agents don’t break procedure all on their loneseome.

And I agree that the agency is probably going to take this bullet for whoever said to let them in.

The whole thing stinks.
