Bill Kristol: What About McDonnell?

By Too Conservative

A great piece on why Governor McDonnell is equally (if not more) qualified to be in the Presidential running.
I expect him to be on all candidates short-lists for VP at the very least.

Bill Kristol? Dude. Read someone smarter.

  • G.Stone says:

Like your buddy David Brooks perhaps ? You know the David Brooks who wrote the piece last week about him getting snookered by Obama. You know the article that says what I have been telling you for 2 plus years.
Brooks has admitted Obama is a fraud, now it is your turn. I know it is tough to admit you were wrong about such a big thing, however, you were and it is time you fessed up, had some humble pie and apologize to the rest of the country for making such a terrible error in judgement.

  • edmundburkenator says:

Brooks? I don’t read that guy much either anymore. But I will read him to see what flavor kool aid you’re drinking now, G.

Every time I see Palin on TV, I still think of your Margaret Thatcher comment.

    It is comedy gold.

    Off to read Brooks!

  • edmundburkenator says:

    Ok. Just read Brooks.

Do you think he was in this country during the last 18 months? Obama rejects Obamaism?

I don’t need to read the comics now.

  • RichmondDem says:

The only problem here is that he lacks foreign policy experience, as do all your front runners. I think the GOP VP will be a Washington insider for that reason.

  • G.Stone says:

You are something else. Brooks is your guy not mine. Brooks is you, you are him. His message of the last 2.5 years is identical to everything you have said. You are two peas in a pod.
Brooks now admits that Obama snookered him and all of a sudden brooks is a dipshit to you. Sorry Pal.

Do check the Brooks piece in question, I think your pissing up the wrong rope.

Again I will ask ,are you ready to admit your support for Obama was a massive mistake. Were you snookered ?

  • edmundburkenator says:

Again I will ask ,are you ready to admit your support for Obama was a massive mistake. Were you snookered ?

No. I really don’t feel snookered at all G. I think if you were to look back on my copious comments from that election time, I don’t think I got much wrong in my assessment of the politicians at the time.

This can not be said of you.

I remember talking to a lefty right before the election and telling him that he was not going to like Obama very much. I was right there too.

The guy is a politician. But we are better off with him than the pair you supported and the platform they campaigned on.

We are stuck in a world wide mess that could actually be a lot worse than it is. But you will never concede to that.

I don’t recall who Brooks supported in the election… let me look. Ahh… he didn’t endorse anyone.

Brooks is a nice guy, but he should really write books and not 500 word columns.

  • G.Stone says:

“I remember talking to a lefty right before the election and telling him that he was not going to like Obama very much. I was right there too.”

The basis of your assertion that he is a centrist, see look maxine waters is pissed. pitiful pal, pitiful.

“We are stuck in a world wide mess that could actually be a lot worse than it is”

I can also say by now it should be much improved.

This man is pissing away Billions on Solar companies on the brink of bankruptcy, formulation programs and policies to “create” jobs with price tags of $200 K and up per job ( geitners # not mine ) and you are touting him as having saved us from the brink of diaster. You have gone from delusional to bat shit crazy.

This man has failed ever economic benchmark, has squandered billions if not trillions and you cling to unprovable false narratives as a way of not having to say you were taken. This guy bullshit you, the evidence is now overwhelming and you can’t say three simple words- I GOT SNOOKERED. Sayit, get it over with and try to maintain an ounce of intellectual integrity.

  • edmundburkenator says:

G, please don’t lecture me about intellectual integrity. I mean, it’s really ridiculous for YOU to do that.

You can believe your false narratives (I’m sure you think someone paid $16 bucks for muffins, etc… etc…).

I’ll tell you what, if you now can say Palin was a dangerous mistake of historic proportions, I’ll stop reminding you about your Thatcher comment.

    What say you?

    Read this guy:
    http://www.capitalgainsandgames.com/blog/bruce-bartlett

    Get smarter.

  • G.Stone says:

Are you actually going to tell me you see a link between Obama and the writings of Bartlett ?
Are you going to tell me that Obama has fashioned his economic policies after models suggested by Bartlett ?

Aside from their love of raising taxes where do Obama and Bartletts visions cross ? They don’t. The linkage ends at a love for more taxes.

    And the latest straw man….
“You can believe your false narratives (I’m sure you think someone paid $16 bucks for muffins, etc… etc…).”

This administration gave a 1/2 a billion $ to a company going down the crapper and you as usual want to change the subject. Actually you are probably right now searching the internet for a loony source that says it was actual a Bush loan.

EB lets get real these people, this administration has and continues to make terrible decisions.
Obama owned all branches of Gov’t and we are reaping the rewards of that fact. It will take years to dig out of this hole, with some grownups in charge. If You wnat to cling to the notion that this president has a grasp of stuff economic then I can’t help you.

  • G.Stone says:

Don’t make me start listing their predictions v. todays numbers.

  • edmundburkenator says:

Do you know what opportunity costs are G?

  • Cato the Elder says:

Opportunity costs: commenting on this blog versus doing something productive.

  • edmundburkenator says:

Entertainment has its productive aspects, Cato.

Like Fantasy Football. How are you doing in your leagues?

  • Cato the Elder says:

OK. I’m the master of waiver wire garbage collection.

  • edmundburkenator says:

Hmm… this does not sound good. It’s early though. I hope you are not a Jamal Charles or Peyton Manning victim.
