Jeez. First Gingrich making noises about a suit and now Perry. I agree that having just two choices on the ballot is ridiculous, but it’s not like the criteria weren’t known before and haven’t been met by people as marginal as Alan Keyes, Dennis Kucinich, and Lyndon LaRouche. This is really whiny.

Now that Bob Moses is running for chair of LCDC we can get real change to the process.
Its interesting that a conservative who argues the rule of law and another who rails against federal court intervention in a state matter (10th amendment anyone?) are talking about suing the Commonwealth. These are signs their campaign organization is weak, not that Virginia’s law was too tough.
Brian, that is actually worse for the LCDC than Evan MacBeth!

Actually, Fred, he rips down everybody’s signs when they are placed illegally. And he’s got the county’s permission to do it. He occasionally will mistake a legally placed sign for an illegally placed one, but to his credit, he replaces them when he does so.
It’s not his fault that it is predominantly Republicans who place their signs illegally.

That’s not what I recall with Homebrew in 2007. I’m glad he picks up illegal road trash, but I think it’s getting a little fishy when a political party officer is an official road spam cleaner. Too much potential for preferential treatment.
Back in ’07, he wasn’t an official road-spam remover. He is one now*.
There is nothing stopping Republicans from taking the class and getting official approval for removing all those signs.
There’s nothing stopping Republicans from declining to place signs illegally, either. But as this thread seems to imply, many Republicans seem to think that the rules shouldn’t apply to them. 10, 000 signatures (with addresses) state-wide including 400 from each area? Not a terribly high bar, I would have thought.
Going back to signs for a moment, anyone here friends with Andrews? His (legally placed) signs are still up on the construction site at the intersection of Waxpool and Ashburn Village Blvd.
*Please do not take my defense of Moses’s sign-removal activities as an endorsement of him for LCDC office. I will not be rejoining and have no preference between him and Evan MacBeth.
Mr. Moses has removed signs from private property using his position with the county as some kind excuse to do so. Because he has the right to remove “illegal ” signs does not give him the right to venture onto private property. He has done so, he has been caught several times, and he should be ashamed.
Having said that, I suggest all Loudoun County Dems get behind Bob Moses as their new LCDC Chair, he is exactly what the LCDC needs. Go Bob !

Email read and responded to. Once again you make a mountain out of a molehill when you apparently never had a problem accessing TC in the first place, or if you did, it was on your end, not ours.
Can you believe it, there are still BIG signs scattered around the county? I recently saw a huge Ramadan sign in the Rt. 7, Dranesville junction area.
Vivian Paige is reporting that Perry only got around 2000 signatures, and that the judge threw out his case.

The 4th Circus will yawn longer than this case will sit on its docket. I tried a very similar suit in the EDVA in 2010 for a libertarian candidate and the 4th Circus upheld the district court’s denial. (No, I am not a libertarian.)
I’m still waiting for Chris Kachouroff to run for something statewide! This guy was the star of the RPV Advance in 2007 speaking for Ron Paul.

Although I still wouldn’t want to hang my professional hat anywhere near Perry. Hopefully for Vincent, the absence of Perry’s mug from the homepage of http://www.desmoinesregister.com today was purely a financial decision…and not just a case of not getting inventory purchased quickly enough.
