What The F$&k???!!!???

By Loudoun Insider

Part two of “Why Is This News?” is even worse than the post below.  The forever delayed and obnoxiously still self promoting Loudoun Hounds will be showing baseball movies to HOAs.  Wow.  And it gets a story in the quickly declining Leesburg Today, which ran the last worthless non-story.  The race to the bottom of the local press continues.  Very sad.

So are the Loudoun Hounds EVER going to become a reality or what?

  • BlackOut says:

Didn’t we just get a second tier professional soccer team to play in that highly touted stadium too? So exciting, maybe we’ll get outdoor soccer movies too.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we soon have bullfighting in that stadium.

  • Independent voter says:

I bet they will be selling their Hounds baseball caps, bumper stickers and so forth. I have such a cap that I will consider selling at discount. I’m not holding my breath waiting for the Hounds arriving at Kincora. Soccer?

  • edmundburkenator says:

I was at a Delmarva Shorebirds (Orioles system) game last weekend. Good time. The problem with baseball is it does seem to be a slow or no growth sport.

Soccer is growing, but the number of home games is so few compared to baseball.

I wonder if the thing could be configured for both.

  • liz says:

Um…I don’t get what this gets a WTF and multiple exclamation points. So L2D prints fluff. So what else is new?

The GOP party platform leaving the door open to end the mortgage interest deduction deserves a WTF and multiple exclamation points. It’s a huge tax increase on the majority of Americans.

  • Baron Rosedown says:

How many times have the Loudoun Hounds been delayed? At this point I’ve lost count. I guess hosting HOA/Hounds events is an attempt to make them relevant.

  • Joe Budzinski says:

Bullfighting – HA! Oh that it were ….. my vote is flood the field and finally get that Sterling Curling project underway.

  • Linda B says:

I think you need to chill, LI. They were sent a press release and they printed it. It’s not like there’s a limit on the amount of stuff they can post on the web. I sent them a press release yesterday for an event in Leesburg that I guarantee will have less participation than these movies, but I got a nice email back saying they will post the info. And there will be some people who will be interested to learn of my event (a writers event), so I am grateful they are printing it.

  • Loudoun Insider says:

Man, Liz and Linda B need to chill more than me! I just wrote a post about a questionable “news” story, and then I pop on over to the Leesburg Today website the next morning and see an article about the mythical Loudoun Hounds showing baseball movies for HOAs instead of playing baseball as they were supposed to, and the first thought that popped into my head was “what the f$&k???!!!???”

Lately it seems that the local press does little more than reproduce press releases and cover the glaringly obvious.

And Joe, B, I think bullfighting and curling have more of a chance of happening in Loudoun before professional baseball does.

  • Hillsboro says:

What’s the average career of a foxhound, 10 to 11 years? I think we’ll be well into Fetch II’s career before the first pitch gets thrown.

  • Loudoun's Soul says:

And they were in such a hurry for the Board’s approval of their application. They just had to have it NOW, they couldn’t wait to be a part of the entire Kincora application, they just had to have it NOW or they would lose an entire season and might even — horrors !– lose their franchise. Wouldn’t be the first time an applicant lied outright to a sitting Board. The story is not that their showing films of baseball instead of real baseball — the story is why after all the hurry to get their SPEX approved they still haven’t even broken ground on the stadium some three (or is it four?) years later. I have to agree with LI, what the f***? I’d have thought L2Day or WAPO would have been all over this one.

  • liz says:

My comment had no exclamation marks at all. It was reasonable and measured, where is my need to chill?

    I had a question, I asked it.

  • nomore says:

Your old friend David onofrio is the Kincora PR person who is organizing these movies.

All the HOAs selected are higher end and “exclusive private events” will curry favor when it comes time to ask for free money from the taxpayers.

  • Loudoun Insider says:

I will place question marks and exclamation points when and where I want in what quantities I want. What causes me to use punctuation marks in excess may not be the same as you.

  • liz says:

I just find it puzzling that you would claim someone else who is communicating calmly would need to chill when you seem to have gotten so exercised about this. But whatever floats your boat.

  • Loudoun Insider says:

Good grief, libs are so touchy!

  • Baron Rosedown says:

    LI – No shit.

You would think that Liz Miller would use her own non-traffic blog to espouse her “miss manners” doctrine of proper punctuation. Really Liz, get off your high horse.

  • I have officially had it with the Hounds aka the most popular team in Loudoun to have never fielded a team. What a crock.

  • Loudoun Insider says:

Seriously folks – after having to push that stadium through as part of the Kincora project and years of broken promises about when they would begin play, here we are years later and they are showing baseball themed movies to HOAs. And it gets a story in the paper without so much as a “where the hell is the real baseball”. yes they got a press release and printed it, but to print this without excoriating them is ridiculous.

  • Leej says:

Please it is very simple “”"”it is the economy stupid”"”"”"

Think about it this way Loudoun is getting a rail to nowhere at hundres of millions to projects that are going to nowhere anytime soon.

think about it the economy of DC is mostly from the american taxpayer. no matter who becomes president federal jobs are going away. and people think there is money for a baseball team. ;-)

if baseball was coming to Loudoun it would of already happened.

    pie in the sky
