I’m Still Alive, How About You?

By Loudoun Insider

I know, many of you are disappointed.Β  Sorry!

Could perhaps these hurricane winds blow some of the political stench out of northern Virginia?Β  Somehow I am not too optimistic.

These are not the best of times for our country or our county.
So much blather about “transparency” by the same people who consciously withhold information and are always scheming about how to do it with even less public notice. Facts flowing freely keep the flame of democracy burning. While we are all shut in is a good time to reflect on what is going on.
    [Post Marvin Gaye right here…]
The haters would find it much easier if they could shut off the flow of information and free expression you provide. It obviously infuriates them that they can’t get you under control like they have done to every other outlet, even paid and elected ones.
Thanks for what you do. For real.
    You’ve got guts.

  • Loudoun Insider says:

There are other people with guts as well in this county, but still a few too few to make a real difference. But the more they screw around, the more people they will motivate. This Board has already sealed its fate, and its only going to get worse.

  • NotJohnSMosby says:

38 months to do until the new BoS takes over in Loudoun. Is it too early to take odds on how many seats Democrats will pick up in 2015?

  • Loudoun Insider says:

I tell you one thing – if the Dems keep doing what they’ve been doing, it won’t matter how bad this BOS is, they’ll retain a large majority. Expect more than a few of the current members to go down at the next LCRC nominating convention. And also expect a strong Independent movement if the LCDC doesn’t get its act together and moderate itself. Of course I don’t expect that to happen, so I expect a strong I movement, which will only help the LCRC wingnuts.

  • Laura Lieberman says:

Where are the Independents and Libertarians in LoCo?

  • Loudoun Insider says:

They’re here, and they’re disgusted with both parties.

  • edmundburkenator says:

Was there a rumor of your demise, LI?

While we are talking about forces of nature… I hope everyone takes care over the next days.

  • Loudoun Insider says:

No rumors of my demise that I know of, I just know too many GOBGNers would love to see me leave Loudoun one way or another. Things were so much easier for them when no one paid attention to their games.

  • ACTivist says:

Fair sentiment eb. I thought this post would be local concern about the storm but I see, like most other posts, it is just about LI.

  • Leej says:

If there is a good thing about the storm we don’t have to hear Romney or Obama lie how they are going to help the american people. πŸ˜‰

But no dancing on sundays is plain bizarre, which i did not know mormons believe until someone posted that yesterday. absolutely bizarre.

    my brother confirmed that.

I just saw on the news Romney is bringing goods into NJ and that is a good thing. but would he be doing that if he was not running for president. hmmmm the end of this election can not come soon enough.

final note that crane we see dangling in NYC most likely would not of happened if left in the correct position for high winds. We will have to wait and see on that one. and seriously, hope everyone is ok and safe back there.

  • BlackOut says:

The last thing NJ needs is a truckload of “goods” from anyone. What a pandering opportunist. How about he cancel his lieing TV advertisements and donate that cash to NJ?

Most regular folks know if you want to help, donate cash, not a bunch “goods”. \

And to this his wish to abolish FEMA and you get a clear picture of how reality touches Mitt.

  • A.E. Gnat says:

The “goods” were “goods” donated by people who attended when Romney’s campaign called a “storm relief” event. Article doesn’t say if Romney donated any of that $250 million net worth of his, but he did assist in boxing up the “goods.” So there’s that.

  • Loudoun Insider says:

This post isn’t about me, ACT, I can’t help where the comments go. If any of you haven’t been following The Sheriff of Nottingham in PWC, be sure to go there to see Prince William County rival Loudoun for political stinky BS. Another county led by so-called “conservatives”.

  • Barbara Munsey says:

aeg, the Obamas are worth millions too–did they donate their net worth and I missed it? You’d think the press–and the left-handed blogs–would COVER something like that.

I DID see that OFA campaign tweet about using the downtime from the storm to make campaign phonecalls–never let a crisis go to waste!

  • A.E. Gnat says:

I don’t know. I do know that Obama is the President of the United States, and as such, I suspect he’s been a little busy over the last couple of days.

Anyway, it’s a good thing that Romney is organizing “goods” drives and such. I just hope that’s not his idea of what will replace FEMA if he eventually gets his wish.

  • Cato the Elder says:

“I don’t know. I do know that Obama is the President of the United States, and as such, I suspect he’s been a little busy over the last couple of days.”

Too bad he wasn’t such a busy little beaver while our Ambassador was being assassinated, but then again there weren’t any cameras around. That YouTube is just straight up sinister, yo.

  • Eric the half a troll says:

Indeed, Cato, just like its a shame Bush was not a busy little beaver as 9/11 was being planned right under his nose. Right?

  • JTHmishmash says:

President Obama could give an instant 5 million to folks in NY and NJ, if he would give in to Trumps publicity stunt and just release his college records….very simple way for him to help out there.

(Not that I care about Obama’s college records…Trump does, and will give 5mil to a charity of O’s choice if he releases them)

  • CathysClown says:

Romney gave 30% of his income last year to charity. What
percentage did Obama give? What percentage did you all give to charity?

Give cash to the people of NJ? So those in Newark can suck up their noses and shoot it up their arms? good plan.

  • Ben Dover says:

CathysaClown – More significant to this discussion, how much did you give to charity? Huh? Hmmm? Huh? Well?

Your commentary on NJ and Newark do a splendid job of displaying your charitable side.

  • Eric the 1/2 Troll says:

“Romney gave 30% of his income last year to charity. What
    percentage did Obama give?”

Funny thing about making in excess of $200 million each year without having to pay the taxes everyone else does on that income. You fine somehow you can get by on only $140 million each year.

  • Eric the 1/2 Troll says:

i think we need more discussion of Trump here. What do you think of his theories regarding Obama’s school record? Why do you think he is so interested in them? Do you think he will run again? I am very interested in the man and his philosophy. I think we could even dedicate an entire thread to him, don’t you?

  • Eric the 1/2 Troll says:

“You fine somehow you can get by on only $140 million each year.”

    “fine” = “find”
