Delgaudio Stripped of All Committee Assignments!

Sterling Supervisor and perennial embarrassment Eugene Delgaudio was assigned to NO committees for the upcoming year according to Leesburg Today. In 2012, Delgaudio sat on the Finance, Government Services and Operations Committee and the Transportation/Land Use Committee. Now, he's just sitting.
It looks like York/the BOS finally has had enough of him. Now, if they could only take away his microphone we'd be in good shape.
In a more positive development, Shawn Williams was named vice-chair (for whatever that really means) replacing Janet Clarke who supposedly (and abruptly) gave up the spot to that others could have a chance to serve. Of course, no one's buying that reason for a second.

How does one go about forcing the chairman to launch an investigation on himself and the ex-vice chair and their “handling” of this matter, anyway?

I was responding to BlackOut re the “single closed meeting” comment he made, not to you, so while transferring it to yourself for the sake of a virtual pingpong/speedbag workout may make sense from your perspective, from mine it does not. IOW, I wasn’t talking to you, so get your panties in a wad if you want, but you’re going to be talking to yourself about it.

Barbara, something made Delgaudio accept this signficant move of removed committee seats quietly. I think we’ll all agree Delgaudio loves to jump into a spot light and if he had anything to stand on he would have gone public with this.
I guess it’s possible, as you posit, that Delgaudio became a mute in the face of the highly public and powerful Miller/Weintraub pac; all for the sake of taking one for the team.
I think I am going to stick with the theory something substantial is on Delgaudio. Something that was enough for the board to unanimous make this incredible move. I think the CA stuff is on a completely different track. A criminal charge justification is not necessary for a board to move on ethical issues as they did.
As an aside, once again we are all left speculating because of the lack of communication from this board. Maybe we should be talking about sunshine in a different light.

He hasn’t gone mute, as statements from his lawyer have come immediately following the vote.
I think, as I have now said several times now, that the corporate board (of which he is a voting member) made a wise decision.
It won’t remove any ammo from the political opportunists, far from it. Hence the “need” to discuss sunshine in a different light, now that they voted the way they did (which is what people WANTED, right? and now that they’ve got it, moan’n'groan!), since there’s zero evidence that there was a lack of sunshine in how the vote everyone’s been clamoring for was arrived at.
So, when do the next press releases and lawsuits happen? Are they being rewritten to reflect what’s wrong with the board voting to do what the opposing politicians want? Too much.
No, he hasn’t. He’s gone moot.
If the pac didn’t make him shut up as you considered, then it had to be the evidence.
Delgaudio silent? Only speaking through a lawyer? That absolutely doesn’t happen without something in the dark we don’t know about.
So we both continue to speculate due to the complete lack of open communication from the BOS. Nothing new is it?
I have to agree with BlackOut.
I think that Eugene’s personal silence is, in the grand scheme of things, extraordinary.
I’ve not seen the evidence, of course, but I like some of the early indicators, and would absolutely be willing to wager on Eugene being charged with a crime or sanctioned in some way (by either the Arlington County CA or by the BOS).
What do you say, Barbara? Shall we place a $10.00 wager on the outcome of the Eugene Delgaudio Debacle? If you like, we can simply go double or nothing on the “Who will run for the Sterling BOS Seat wager.”
He said nothing throughout the BoS meeting? He has stopped issuing newsletters?
Guys, he hasn’t “gone mute” (aeg’s comment is great–moot as far as assignments are concerned). He voted and moved on, and we’re still right where we all were before the new year started–waiting for the CA to finish and publish.
I can understand, as I said, that since it’s time for political theatre to reopen here in the new year, the need for breathless declamation of what has occurred and whose responsibility it is and what it all very definitely means in “absence of a negative proves my preferred positive” land, but again, we’re right where we were before the ball dropped on New Year’s Eve, except they took a smart step to (in vain) give the committed activists one less thing to bark about.
Is that part of the feeding frenzy on the vote too? How on earth will his day job get connected to every decision on a special exception, every appointment to any committee, every comment on any staff report, if he ISN’T on any committees (just like you all wanted)?

No thanks on the bet, bend–I should have waited for a few more attack press releases and blog posts before betting on the Sterling race–I owe you $5, because I think the sights are set on Chairman atm, or at least they were a few weeks ago.

Barbara, I seriously doubt the move the BOS made over Delgaudio was to placate anyone, sounds like you are back thinking the pac is having significant influence and dictating board actions. It has to be directly related to a Delgaudio behavior and action.
I also don’t think it’s the last of this mess. Otherwise we would have heard a public statement of some kind attempting closure.
You are right we are still awaiting the CA report and I am with you on that, but objectively what this BOS did was significant and pushed the bar ahead. It’s a big stretch to try and say nothing at all has changed before and after the move.
As I said, I understand that for theatrical purposes, this is a “great” pac builder, but let’s wait to see when (if) they trigger the $10K mark and have to start filing reports electronically to remark on their relative success (which will truly be measured at the next local election, years from now).
A statement attempting closure, before the report resulting from the study on whether he used aides for campaign fundraising (as opposed to the blog-generated “news” that he is under investigation by the FBI for using public funds to run a hate group)? ummm, how? There will be no closure even after there is hard news on that account, because the object is not “closure” but political.
