   This is going to get really fun. Homeschoolers and ardent pro-lifers vs. the establishment candidate Gilmore. Right now, I firmly believe all bets are off on this convention. Marshall will have very little support from elected officials with the exception of Cuccinelli.

   Marshall has made enough electeds mad enough to campaign vigorously against him but the electeds do not like Gilmore that much either. So many questions, so little answers!

   I like Del. Bob Marshall alot, just as I like my own Del. Chris Saxman… The problem with both just for starters is statewide name recognition…

   In my district people would say.. Bob Marshall.. you mean Marshall Coleman? seriously…. now that is no comparison of the men…. Bob Marshall’s politics towers above that other guy… but in Marshall’s district you’d find the same reaction…. Chris Saxman, who is that? Virginia being a pragmatic state, and voters not really paying attention until one month to go, will lean towards the ‘devil they know’ in name recognition along with the and MSM slobbering over Gov. Mark Warner… oh isn’t he the Republican John Warner?, I like him, because the MSM told me so…..”

   See what I mean….. Good men, but it is not their time, and they are not the one’s to take on Warner…..

   Gov. Jim Gilmore is the one who can and will beat Mark Warner…

   HIlarious – Gilmore getting challenged from the right. Extend out the vectors of this election dynamic and all future intra-Republican contests will have to take place in an asylum. Warner (M) must have periodic, uncontrollable giggle fits over this stuff.

   I really do like Bob Marshall, especially his principled stance on growth during the Dulles South debate, but I don’t see him being successful in this endeavor. The developer money will certainly go the other way.

   Bob Marshall is a rarity. Marshall is a good man, and he is an elected official who shows proper deference to constitutional law. The possibility that his fellow elected officials may not support Marshall is their problem. Our problem should be getting Bob Marshall elected.

    This, of course, explains perfectly why voters in Northern Virginia and Hampton Roads sent four State Senators packing and rejected another Senator’s own brother for the House of Delegates.

    I’m sorry, STD, but you’re from the Valley, so you don’t get just how angry voters are in the east over the transportation tax debacle. The fact that Marshall not only opposed it, but is still fighting it tooth-and-nail in the courts will be all the name recognition he needs.

    Oh, and Mark Warner won in 2001 because he could run to Mark Earley’s right on guns. Good luck trying that against Bob Marshall.
