The Republicans will nominate Keith Fimian as their Congressional Choice in VA-11.
Can he hold this seat in a year that Mark Warner and Barack Obama are likely to win the 11th overwhelmingly?
Outlook: Not Likely.

I’ve asked this before but still am in the dark. Can anyone tell me where one can find biographical info on Mr. Fimian? I’ve gone to the website and there seems to be virtually nothing there. Am I just looking in the wrong place?
I realize that he’s not the kind of candidate you might like, Vince, but could you at least show him enough respect to spell his name correctly?
Kind of shame no other Republican is giving him a fight. Since Fimian is a political novice, he could use the practice.
Nonetheless, the general election has not even started, and you have already given up. Before you give up, could you wait a bit or would that be too conservative?
Keith Fimian is the real deal–a smart and accomplished businessman who doesn’t read q-cards. This is in contract to the Demo has been hack Leslie and corrupt hack Gerry. My bet is with Fimian. Really, Vince, voters in the 11th aren’t that dumb.
Can anyone tell me where I can find out more about this guy? I assume he has a stellar reputation and background, but it would be in his interest to say something on his website. When someone is breaking into the political scene and it’s difficult to find biographical information, people may begin to assume that there isn’t anything of note. If there’s nothing there, we need to find some more candidates for the nomination. If there’s wonderful stuff there, Fimian and his campaign need to get it out where it’s accessible.
If Tom and Not Running are impressed with him, they must have the info others are looking for. Maybe they can put it up in a comment or provide a link.
I acknowledge Vince’s correction in his original post. Thank you.
My impression, “NoVA Scout,” is that his resume is of the sort that (you claim) otherwise impresses you, when not coupled with genuinely Conservative values.
Of course, given that he is the nominee by default, he is owed the support of those who choose to participate in official GOP functions as a matter of honor and the Party Plan.
Do you still fall into that category, Vince?
How do I find out, James?
BTW, I don’t participate in GOP functions as a matter of honor, I participate in GOP functions (at least at the State level) as a matter of economic self-defense.
And, finally, as you no doubt suspect, I’ve yet to be impressed (at least not in ways that would lead me to cast a vote or make a contribution) by candidates who lack “genuinely conservative values.” Real conservatives seem scarce as hens’ teeth most cycles and this always leaves me saddened on Election Days.
I understand that he has a website, “NoVA Scout.” Surely your competent to find it.
As for “Real conservatives,” one cannot help conclude from your postings that you are confusing “real Conservatives” with “reactionary Liberals.” Probably a function of believing too much of what you see in the Washington Post.
JY: my quest for elusive biographical information is not satisfied by the website. Surely you’ve encountered this yourself. Hence I am hoping for information from those, like you, Citizen Tom and Not Running who know him well enough to have formed an opinion of his merits.
I agree he could put more on his website. NoVA Scout may want to look at his company’s website to read about the company he built during the last 20+ years. A short Keith Fimian bio is also on this site. See http://www.usinspect.com/
