The funeral of a local hero features fellow cops and local officials to pay tribute to those who are no longer with us. Disturbingly, Gerry Connolly didn’t show up as Chairman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, but showed up as a Congressional candidate, openly campaigning and soliciting votes for next Tuesday’s election. He had to be escorted away from the event. This is just absolutely sick and appalling behavior from a corrupt man who apparently just doesn’t know better.
I’m having a hard time figuring out what’s worse: the entire notion of politicking at a police officer’s funeral, or the spine-chilling image of a politician “asking” for support from local law enforcement officers while the body of one of their own rests next to them.
Or maybe its the fact that Boss Connolly doing this doesn’t really surprise me all that much. Having this man as our next Congressman will be a stain on the institution of Congress and an embarrassment to Northern Virginia.

40 Lawsuits , when Fimian was in the house to inspect it for a mere two hours and did not find hidden problems ?? In today’s letigious society, Fimian is lucky he didn’t have more. It is the nature of his business for folks to look for a frivilous handout.
And liens against his company? Again…the liens were against 1099 contracts he had with other subcontractors…not him. He did step up and pay those liens, but he’ll never see that back from those contractors. So Keith is the one that got “got” here..
Connolly is a disgusting human being.

You’re exactly right. Keith’s company does thousands upon thousands of inspections a year and has been in business for a while. Being sued 40 times is next to nothing.
Do you mean to say that Connelly was asked to leave because of his behavior? He was escorted out?
What a complete and utter a-hole. I wish Fimian would have run another ad to respond to the bogus Connolly charges. His last ad was great but it wasn’t enough. Hopefully they have enough cash left to make another ad highlighting just how disgusting and self serving he really is.
What a horrible and despicable act. Connolly’s utter lack of social decorum is a reflection that he does not have a modicum of couth.
Connolly is a parasitic narcissistic tool and gives the meaning of “what ever it takes” a disgusting new meaning.
This is the kind of behavior that turns people off of politicians in general, not just Democrats or Republicans. It’s ridiculous and disrespectful, and I can’t believe that Connolly would have such a tin ear to think that was even within a rational realm of acceptability.
I am thoroughly disgusted, but sadly not at all surprised. This is the reason the rank and file of the FFX County PD can’t stand this toad.
Besides the obvious stupidity of this act, I have to point out that Connolly could not have been mistargeting a bigger audience anywhere. Only 12% of the FFX PD lives in the County last I heard, therefore they can’t even vote for him. While the funeral was open to the public, approx 90-95% of the mourners were fellow PD and Stecco’s Family – which is from PA. Connolly would have hit more constituents standing outside a supermarket yesterday afternoon.
I would love to know who escorted Connolly out and how did he react?
I would also like to ask everyone to keep Ofc. Stecco and his family in their prayers, his children in particular. I heard his funeral was beautiful, approx 500 cars in the procession. That Connolly in anyway inflicted harm on this family is both appalling and sickening. Please forward this story to any FFX County resident – they need to know the character of this man.
Sorry, let me clarify, although Connolly’s district is larger than FFX County, his soliticitation at the funeral was still a waste of his time.
Fimian is still running the same old tired ad and never forcefully responded to Connolly’s bogus response ads. Most citizens in that district simply don’t know what a complete ass Connolly is. An incident like this could really make a difference if well publicized.
I did not see the “Chaiman” escorted away, but would have paid a lot of money to experience that event. What I do know is that he arrived when the funeral was 90% complete. He had the gall to call ahead and request that the funeral service at Hylton be delayed for his arrival. He would have left the family and police family standing in the cold for over an hour so he could make an appearance. When he finally did arrive, he made a commotion at the front of the church, trying to get positioned for the recessional. He was promptly sent away and when I last saw him, he was standing in front of the chapel by himself. According to the comments above, he found other ways to get attention. Narcissus, look out, you are about to be replaced by Connolly!
Fimian will win, I don’t even see why Connolly is considered as a serious candidate.

There is a problem posting this sort of thing this way on a blog. I would happily link to the story, but I don’t see any corroborating evidence. Eye witness testimony from unseen people is thin at best.
Hopefully, the mainstream media picks up on the story.

I was there and I saw this happen. It is a scene I will never forget, nor will the officers in attendance. Any police readers……remember Connolly used Vicky’s funeral to announce (without the family’s knowledge or consent) that Gabby was the other victim at Sully Station.
He uses a family and community tragedy to his own gain. It is like reading a stage direction: “look sympathic, hold head down-but angled so it can be photographed”.

Gerry doesn’t like the PO-PO because they charged him with a felony hit/run. (rumored to be drunk) of course he got off and had the court records expunged
I was at the funeral and I was absolutely disgusted, but not surprised. A couple years ago my husband and I attended the “Blue Mass” during National Law Enforcement Week. We were with another couple, one of which was also a cop. We all decided to go to Maggiano’s for dinner. The guys stood out because they were still in uniform. Connolly approached our table, interrupted our dinner and said, “How is it that you all are able to afford to eat here?” We were so shocked at the comment that none of us could respond. Luckily the guys maintained their tempers and did not get into a physical altercation, although in hindsight Connolly deserved to get knocked out. It’s pathetic that even now, a couple years later, he is still a no-class, uncouth and S.O.B.
Loudoun Lady and FriendofFrank #10 & #13, I was not able to watch him physically being removed from the building due to the enormous number of people who came to pay their respects, but my husband was part of the funeral events and he told me that members of the Tact team escorted him out at the family’s request.
This man is the biggest piece of human garbage that I have ever seen. Not only did he get Vicky’s husbands name wrong at the funeral, but when he was turned down by Gabby’s wife to be a speaker at his funeral he refused to have the county pay for Gabby’s funeral. He said since he was not allowed to speak, he claimed that it was a private funeral and the county gov will not pay for it. Wether you like police or not, those 2 died in the line of duty and the govt should pay for the funeral.
Connolly’s lack of good judgement should come as no surprise to anyone who followed his career on the Fairfax Co. BofS, The man has no couth and is utterly shameless. The loosers are those who he represents in the U.S.Congress. Hopefully his tenure will be short
