Rasmussen is the first pollster out of the gate, taken the day after Creigh Deeds won the Democratic Primary with 50% of the vote. Deeds leads McDonnell 47%-41%, a dramatic turnaround from every poll conducted before the primary.
What’s even more dramatic is Deeds’ image scores. McDonnell remains popular, at a solid 52/28. However, Deeds explodes with a 59/27 score. While it’s not that much higher than McDonnell, it is astoundingly higher than every other image score Deeds has polled:
Dec 8: 37/24
Feb 5: 30/29
Apr 9: 34/30
Apr 17: 33/35
May 21: 35/36
June 4: 41/39
A poll taken a week ago puts his image at a weak +2; now it’s at an amazing +32. My thoughts on why below the fold.
First, this is clearly the result of a primary bounce, amplified by the manner in which Deeds won the primary. In the closing weeks of the campaign, spurned on by the increasing unpopularity of Brian Moran and Terry McAuliffe, an overwhelming amount of undecideds broke towards Deeds. By June 9th, Deeds had such a groundswell of support that it would lead to a headline-grabbing performance in the primary.
Second, according to this poll, Democrats have come together behind Deeds remarkably quickly (confirming even further how soft Moran and especially McAuliffe’s support was). Deeds wins Democrats by an 89-8 margin, with only 4% remaining undecided. By contrast, McDonnell wins Republicans 78-9, with 11% undecided. Compare this to the June 4th poll, where Deeds support among Democrats is a low 59-16, with 25% undecided (McDonnell lead Deeds 46-34 overall).
Silver lining?
There are two good pieces of news in the party breaks: First, Deeds is maxed out with Democrats, with only 4% remaining undecided. McDonnell only has support among 78% of Republicans with 11% undecided, meaning there is still some low-hanging fruit for McDonnell to pick up. Second, because Deeds is maxed out among Democrats, he must reach out to Independents. In the only constant from pre-primary polls, these voters are still behind McDonnell, 43%-36%.
Deeds reaching out to Independents may also soften his support in his own party. Right now, there’s no telling if the primary bounce Deeds has received is solid (think Obama 2008) or fleeting (think Kerry 2004). Certainly, given the massive turnaround since just a week ago, and given how quickly Democrats fled McAuliffe and got behind Deeds, there’s ample evidence that they’re not solidly in Deeds’ camp. If Deeds starts going around telling voters how moderate he is, it could turn off liberal Democrats who voted for him as the least worst of three options.
A quick rant against conventions
Since we’re talking about primary bounces, let me reiterate my contempt for conventions. There is no such thing as a “convention bounce”, because no one but the people who attend care about it. It doesn’t get people involved; in fact, it goes out of its way to exclude people from the process. Bwana recently bitched that the Washington Post buried its convention coverage while giving a front-page story to a puff piece on a Democrat; unfair, yes, but we certainly have no one to blame but ourselves.
Of course, you could argue that since McDonnell was unopposed, it wouldn’t have mattered anyways. Perhaps, but with a competitive Attorney General race on the ballot (and it would have been a lot more competitive as a primary), along with Bill Bolling being renominated (it would have been a lot less competitive as a primary), there would have been cause to report Republican results, and to debut the Republican ticket at the same time as the Democratic ticket. We’ll never know, but in the future we should, because conventions are self-defeating and in all other ways suck.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled broadcast
Deeds has unified party support, and we have to assume that it’ll stick; I’ll be the first to admit my above argument about reaching out to Independents is weak, even if it is a distinct possibility. The problem Deeds has isn’t maintaining that support, it’s turn-out. Deeds isn’t a flashy guy, he has no ties to Northern Virginia, and his background doesn’t suggest a high turnout among non-white voters. With two successive terms in Richmond and a Democratic President and majorities in both houses, the question becomes: Do Democrats have a reason to go out and vote? Looking at the turnout from Tuesday’s elections, this is a big question mark hanging over Deeds’ head.
Don’t mistake this as a solely Democratic problem, however. We Republicans have to ask ourselves the same question. Why? Because Creigh Deeds isn’t a bad guy. In fact, I think Deeds would be a better Governor than Tim Kaine, and a far better Governor than Brian Moran or especially Terry McAuliffe would be. However, I don’t view this as an “either-or” decision. Deeds is bad on a lot of issues, and we’ll go into that further on. McDonnell is a far better option, but a lot of Republicans may find themselves less motivated to defeat Deeds than they would be against a Moran or McAuliffe. That’s a danger we need to overcome.
I imagine we’ll have other polls coming out shortly that will either confirm or rebut wht Rasmussen found. Given how greatly its numbers departed from every other poll taken, including one a scarce week ago, I wouldn’t be surprised to find this as a pre-primary outlier. However, there’s no guarantee that’s the case, and Bob McDonnell could very well start the general election campaign in the hole.
In closing
So this poll isn’t good for us, but it does have a few silver linings. More to the point, as Democrats like Lowell have argued ad nauseum, it’s early and polls always change (don’t try telling him that now!). The general election campaign has just begun, and Bob McDonnell has a better position on jobs, on spending, on transportation, on public safety, and on many other issues that people haven’t begun to pay attention to because of the high-profile Democratic primary and it’s low-profile winner.
In other words, don’t fret too much; we have the entire campaign ahead of us.

“Looking at the turnout from Tuesday’s elections, this is a big question mark hanging over Deeds’ head.”
Turnout was really good for a non-federal primary, higher than the Senate Primary in 2006. And that was with the apocalyptic thunderstorms in NoVA and Hampton Roads.
“his background doesn’t suggest a high turnout among non-white voters. ”
He will have a rally with Obama the week before the election in Richmond, Petersburg, and Norfolk. Even without that, blacks turned out for Bill Clinton and he was a country white guy.
Deeds won’t have a weakness in the liberal parts of NoVA, either, judging from the primary numbers (beating Moran in his brother’s Congressional district, for cryin’ out loud!) In fact he had little regional weakness anywhere.
This race will pretty much be down to the wire, I think.
Since the respective bases are locked up, it will be a fight for the middle, as always. Who has the bigger problem moving to middle without irritating the base? I would say McDonnell. Democrats have already had their say on that opinion, Republicans haven’t since McDonnell was unopposed. Democrats agree that it’s ok to have a DLC-type candidate who’s fairly moderate on a lot of issues. If McDonnell moderates just a bit from the core Republican beliefs, he’ll get blistered a bit.
Yes, this poll is mostly bounce, but then again Creigh didn’t get 49.5% on Tuesday for nothing. And the turnout was pretty high, certainly higher than anyone thought. All the things that were supposed to be bad for Deeds – high turnout, low spending on his part, fewer paid campaign workers – proved false. You have to give him a lot of credit.
And, in addition, the only real weak area for Deeds was with black voters. We know they won’t be voting Republican come fall, so the job there is to ensure high black turnout on election day. Creigh has 4.5 months and the help of a black President to ensure that happens.
It’s a bounce. Hopefully, we’ll regain ground here yet.
This poll is less than meaningless, IMHO.
Polls are indeed meaningless this far out. But it does have one value – it reminds Rs that we have nothing about which we can be complacent. The Dems picked a very good trio of candidates and, some comments on this site to the contrary, I see little evidence of general electoral dissatisfaction with the Warner\Kaine record. Get used to looking uphill, folks. It can be done, but everything will have to go very well.
If they’re meaningless now, were the ones with McDonnell ahead that LI and team have been posting about for the last few months?
I am a party activist and voted for Moran. I will enthusiastically support the Dem ticket in the fall. (It’s a referendum on Obama). We also will be working hard to pick up the six seats to take control of the House. Both sides will have plenty of money. It will be a close, spirited election. I plan to be celebrating in November.
I am a party activist and a social, economic, and Christian conservative. I will enthusiastically support the Rep. ticket in the fall, and I understand it’s a referendum on Obama. This makes it all the more important that the dems are soundly defeated. I’m taking nothing for granted and going all out for McD, Bolling, and KC. If we win, we must fight on. if we lose, we must fight on. Our nation’s future is at stake. The liberal dems must lose.
Not John, I’ve been the primary poster of polls on this site since they started in December. You can read my thesis on what value they have here:
http://tooconservative.com/?p=4288
I don’t think anyone is calling this poll meaningless.
Everyone likes a winner and besides Deeds has the luxury of course of all the media play right now, even on major cable news as they promote his upset of T-Mac. I question the view that the turnout was significant for one big reason….no primary for the GOP and we have no way of knowing how many Republicans participated. What I do know is every one that I know voted Tuesday and a majority voted Deeds because they want to see a real campign on issues b/t the two and not simply get bulldozed by T-Mac money. Only about 4% voted here so thats not exactly great at all and of that number I think (again here) was alot of GOP supporters. I make that assumption and it is entirely an assumption because the vote tallies were higher in traditional GOP districts here. Friends are saying the same thing about Loudoun and Spotsylvania as well regarding GOP participation. So we will see, but right now Deeds has the wind at his back after Tuesday and everyone of course likes to be with the winner. We wills see if he can keep the sails at full mast.
the obama admin. is going to get worse. however, obama will be graced with the Congressional summer recess when less damage can be done, except internationally.
but when Deeds steps on a podium with Obama, we’ve got him.
HMMMMM
He polls better after he wins than he did prior to a three way primary. I don’t know ,its a mystery.
VA Blogger, my response was to aznew and Ryan. Kelley, again, Obama may be unpopular with your friends in your neck of the woods, but then again, any Democrat is. He’s very popular amongst those who voted for him and the last time I checked, the majority of voters in Virginia did vote for him. Thus, the majority of Virginians who vote do think he’s doing a good job. It’s really as simple as that. I don’t know of any Democrats locally who dislike him, and I know a few people who voted for McCain (Winchester/Frederick Co area and western Loudoun) who think Obama is doing a good job.
Again, if you think that having Obama campaigning for Deeds is a bad thing, I encourage you to keep thinking that way. And, if there’s any way to re-open the vote from the Rep convention, I still encourage you all to support Jeff “Fredrick” Frederick. I pray he goes on the campaign trail for Republicans this summer fall.
Not John, anecdoctal evidence aside, the most recent Daily Kos/Research 2000 showed that McDonnell has a higher favorability in Virginia than Obama does.
And you may have been responding to other people, but I still wanted to correct you on what you said; I’ve been the one posting polls, not LI. And my thoughts on whether those polls are meaningless were addressed last week.
not mosby: i don’t know mr. frederick so i can’t respond to that portion of your comment. 99% of all blacks think obama is doing a good job. people that are being laid off realize that the stimulus & talk of higher taxes is driving businesses to cut staff or go offshore. these are the people who realize that obama is failing to revive the economy. even if you believe the economic/bank collapse is bush’s fault, obama is making it worse. the growing deficit should be a red flag.
according to one paper i read on line this a.m., richmond is the hardest hit in the state as far as unemployment goes (among cities). if you are from NoVa, you might not be seeing this.
Kelley- your barking up the wrong tree. Those in the far left liberal camp like a few folks here that are diehard supporters of Obama could care less about those jobs lost in your neck of the woods. They have been doing everyhting they can for decades to lose those jobs…think clean air act, coal mining industry, tobabcco industry, dominion power bashing (Wise plant issue) etc… Its not about jobs to them, nor is it about Virginians….its about an agenda that puts politics above people on Main Street. They have zero faith in the individual to make the right choices and feel compelled to have government control the majority of things in your life. They support higher taxes in large part to pay for their view of the world and there is no way around it; higher taxes is what we are getting. Remember “pay as you go” is a bit different than “pay as I go”….they are real quick to tell people what other peoples dollars should be used for now aren’t they…..
Primary/Covention vs the media take, the R’s will suck hind teat everytime on the reporting. That doesn’t mean that primaries aren’t a good way to let active Republican and Republican leaning voters select the candidates. The media will not report other than an overview of the results or the candidates just like the convention. However, the 100,000 primary vs the 8000 convention voters should be behind the winner. A far better place to start?
“McDonnell has a higher favorability in Virginia than Obama does”
Just wanted to add my $0.02. That R2000 poll you just cited shows Obama with a 55% approval rating and McDonnell with a 56% approval rating. Are you really suggesting that this means Obama is damaged goods in the Commonwealth?
Not John S. Mosby – I did call this poll meaningless. For the record, I am a strong supporter of Creigh’s.
See this post at my blog if you’re interested:
http://virginiademocrat.blogspot.com/2009/06/2009-outlook-good-news-and-better-news.html
I put it up yesterday, before this poll came out. The first graf is:
“I don’t know when the first head-to-head polls showing Creigh matched up against Bob McDonnell will be out. Soon, I’d imagine. And when they do come out, I have no idea what they will show. To tell the truth, I could care less.”
Let’s get this straight. Bob McDonnell spends 3,963,000 running a “Bob for Jobs” campaign to Creigh Deed’s 2,310,000 and we get a Rasmussen poll of 47% for Deeds to 41% for McDonnell!
Perhaps Bob needs to rethink his campaign theme. It certainly is not too late to do that.
Bob’s campaign plan will affect many Republican candidates. And we have redistricting for the Assembly and Congress coming out of this election.
Delegate Bob Marshall
Honestly, I feel like I’ve been living in an alternative universe for a while know with my fellow Republicans. To me, this race was AT BEST a tossup, and as soon as Deeds started surging, I started considered Bob McDonnell the distinct underdog….which this underscores.
I agree completely about conventions–TOTALLY useless. I can only hope that the party elders, so to speak, will learn a lesson here. And in this case, we could have had the Dem and GOP primaries on the same day and not have to worry about interference.
Mark Warner and Tim Kaine won WITHOUT the Obama organization, They didn’t even need it. When Barack Obama brings 30k+ out in Fairfax County, and the shows up in Richmond and Norfolk to turn out the black vote, it will be an advantage that Warner and Kaine never had. We’re in a world of trouble here–McDonnell has to run a perfect race.
I have no doubt that plenty of us will help him, but I continue to think that at the end of the day, we’ll actually be thankful to have Cuccinelli on the ticket because he’s going to bring an army of workers that will ultimately benefit the top of the ticket as much as himself.
Again, what you could find in this cycle is a complete divide between NOVA and the rest of the State. NOVA certainly represents a significant portion of the voting population that plays a huge role in determining th victor in Virginia. This has the potential to further create a divide in the GA between NOVA and non-NOVA politicians I think and when you thorw in money for transportation needs for example and NOVA’s demand ( requirement really) for the lions share I wonder if they will get it out of the House. I just think that if the Dems win again this cycle and continue to control the Exective Mansion that animosity will swell further between the regions of the State over limited resources. That worries me more than he in the end wins this cycle. I find both of these men the best that each Party could have nominated frankly and in the end the State will be better for the debate to be had coming up.
Conventions get you General Election workers from attendees, disputed primaries get you publicity in June.
Delegate Bob Marshall
I’m one of those independent voters that all of a sudden are now in fashion. The last person I will be voting for is McD. You guys want the consultants to run the party, fine. It doesn’t mean I need to lock step vote for their candidates. That’s why I’m an independent voter. KC gets it. The rest? Too bad, so sad. Maybe some day the rest of you will figure it out.
I don’t know, Delegate, I think the Dems will have plenty of motivated workers coming out of this primary. Just like they did with Jim Webb in 2006. I keep hearing this argument, and we keep losing elections. Empirical evidence means something.
Its kind of funny you mention it in response to me–ironic because had I been able to go to Richmond last year, I would have voted for you. But I work all week and have precious few minutes to spend with my family as it is, and elected to spend some time with my kids rather than, well, you. Giving up the entire day, getting up at the crack of dawn when I’m exhausted already–that’s a hell of a way to treat people in your party. To the VA GOP, apparently my vote doesn’t count.
Seems pretty basic to me: its better to have a quarter of a million people involved and engaged than it is 6,000. Can we overcome it? Sure. But it doesn’t make conventions any less a bad idea.
Bob,
You’ve been having conventions regularly but at least in most precincts in Fairfax, Republican volunteer staffing on election days has been sporadic at best. The rolls of FCDC have doubled over the last few years, the max number has been increased twice I believe since 2004 just so some of the magisterial committees can add new people. And this is without a single convention (except for special elections with the fire-house primaries).
I don’t think that conventions are a recruiting tool, wouldn’t these people who are delegates to your convention already be members of the RPV and probably already in the volunteer pool? While you can never have too many volunteers, I would say the pool of steady Democratic volunteers has more than doubled since 2004 in Fairfax. I don’t see a correlation between that and having conventions. Conventions are all about control and nothing more.
NovaCon….say it ain’t so!! We agree!!
I’ve supported primaries too but have been rethinking it. Do I want people voting who are not involved in politics, have very little idea of who would make the best candidate, or worse, they are democrats voting for the republican who they think will be the easiest to beat? Or do I want people who are involved in party politics and care enough about republican politics to drive all the way to Richmond to caste their vote? Which of these do I want deciding who will represent our party in November? The principal of primaries sound good, permitting everyone to vote and decide, but I’m not sure I like it in practice. If we had closed primaries in Virginia, I might feel differently. But heck, I’m not even sure how I feel now.
http://virginianewssource.com/pmurphy/blog1.php/2009/06/11/virginia-primary-voters-are-pragmatic
NoVA Con seems to be drinking a very good coffee these days. Such clear-headedness is welcome in a realm where self-delusion often holds sway.
This race will be a toughie for Rs. The Dems played their strongest hand. Barring external events that reflect badly on Democrats nationally, this will be a very tough slog. R attention to the middle of the spectrum has been desultory and insincere. Not sure that there’s enough time to make up ground there.
My only disagreement with Nova Conservative is that I think Cuccinelli will be a net drag on the slate. I could be wrong and NovaCon is right to suggest that the ultimate proof of Cuccinelli’s effect will be whether the enthusiasm of his core supporters outweighs the fact (and it is a fact) that the Dems will try to make McD wear every bizarre position Cuccinelli has taken in his effort to pander to our right over the pats four years.
not john s. mosby: richmond IS losing jobs. so its not just us in the hinterland. any green initiative will swell the unemployment lines in SWVA, also hinterland.
but the govt. is awash in money right now because of the stimulus bills. that’s why centers of govt. employment, Wash DC & suburbs, are still relatively healthy economically.
however NJSM: even those in the NOVA area have pension plans that invested in GM & Wachovia, etc., that lost big bucks. these people aren’t riding high as they may have last november. unless these people want to stand in line at social services for public assistance, they might get a little more conservative.
just my thought.
KiV,
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 has very littke to do with the economic well-being of NOVA & the DC Metro area.
The federal government is our second-largest employer. In addition, our area is populated by lots of folks employed by government contractors (employed through the normal course of government business), lobbying outfits, associations of all stripes, and the tourism industry.
By-in-large, folks in the DC Metro area do the work that keeps the government functioning; our jobs are practically guaranteed.
Yes, like other regions of the country, our 401ks have taken hits & our homes aren’t worth what they used to be. However, unlike many other regions, we do (mostly) still have jobs.
The stock markets have rebounded 30% since March, so for a lot of people up here, things are much, much better now than just 3 months ago. Almost night and day. As I stated in a different thread, at least in NoVA, people gauge the state/strength of the overall economy not just by the job situation but by stock markets, real estate markets, that kind of thing. If your portfolio has gained say $200k in the last 3 months, you feel a lot better, even though it’s still down $200k from a year ago. Same with job markets and real estate and everything. if they’ve been dropping and then stabilize, the effect of stabilizing is a vast improvement.
That’s why a lot of people in Fairfax/Arlington/Alexandria are feeling a lot better about the economy these days.
both of you bleeder & not mosby argue part of my point: that those of you in NoVA are not feeling the “recession”. its real for the rest of the state . NoVA is an area unique to the rest of the country for the reasons that all 3 of us cited.
and while all politics is local (hat tip to Tip), be advised that not everyone in the Commonwealth & in the country are as excited about the economy as you may be.
Agree with novaconservative and (yet again) NoVA Scout. If I’m betting today, this is a 7.5 win for the Ds.
Barring some kind of Deeds gaffe (which he doesn’t seem prone to doing), I don’t think this will be all that close.
Deeds is naturally in the middle, he doesn’t need to move there. KC will be worth 2 points for the Ds.
Deeds’ victory bounce should have been expected. And polls t his early in the governor’s race are less than meaningful. Of the last four governor’s of Virginia, only Mark Warner held a lead in the polls at this point in the race. Expect a close race to the wire. The downticket races should be tight as well, although Jody Wagner has a steep hill to climb against Bolling. Not because he’s any great shakes as a candidate. He barely beat Leslie Byrne who, by Virginia standards, is pretty much a communist. Wagner’s got a tought fight because she’s got an easy record to attack. Many states had problems with their revenue forecast during the recession, and the Secretary of Finance no more produces those forecasts than the president of GM builds the company’s cars, but the revenue forecast attack is true enough for politics.
Kelley, point is, Fairfax and the rest of NoVA has decided all of the statewide races the last 4 cycles. Kaine, Webb, Obama, flipping the state senate, major gains in delegates. And the major additional point is that no one but die-hard Republicans blame Obama or Democrats in general for the economy. It’s still a Bush fiasco, and most realize that. So blaming the national economy on local Democrats is pointless, and while it may not be fair to local Republicans, they will get dinged a bit just for being remotely associated with Bush/Cheney and the rest of the national Republican disasters.
I have no doubt that plenty of us will help him, but I continue to think that at the end of the day, we’ll actually be thankful to have Cuccinelli on the ticket because he’s going to bring an army of workers that will ultimately benefit the top of the ticket as much as himself.
- NovaConservative
You are correct sir.
If enthusiastic, ideologically driven volunteers won elections, Ron Paul would be President.
RD, Obamabots are “enthusiastic, ideologically driven” – and yes, they won an election.
LL, you have to have a good candidate first.
“Cooch” is more Ron Paul than Barack Obama.
Not John, it’s time that you guys realize that Bush is out of the White Houes, and it won’t be so effective now to label every single Republican as a “Bush Republican”.
#38….and ask Mosby why…..could it be that the greater portion of Va population employed by the Federal Govt lives in Fairafx County….the larger government gets, the more they pay scale increases the greater the NOVA population expansion will continue and the greater impact that region will have on elections…..hence the future where greater animosity sets in where one region has completely different interests than the remainder of the State. If the NOVA electorate was polled what should be cut first; the size of Government Agencies (non-defense) or the Defense-related ones I think the answer would speak volumes. We all vote our interest and NOVA interest is BIG Govt. plain and simple. My only problem with that is they somehow think we should be doing the same with Richmond as well.
“…could it be that the greater portion of [the] VA population employed by the Federal Gov. lives in Fairfax County….the larger government gets, the more [their] pay scale increases the greater the NOVA population expansion will continue and the greater impact that region will have on elections…”
Dang, Alter, you’ve figured it out! Yes, NOVA is just one big political conspiracy! We’re all in on it…you gotta sign a pact with THEM to live here. You are so clever to have caught on to us!
Bad sign for McD…the Republican establishment candidate seems to have little substance and even more alarming, less of a following…
What are you talking about McSavage?
I don’t think this poll’s 78% number is accurate.
This race is a re-run of the ‘05 AG race. McDonnell has 4 years as a popular AG under his belt. We’re on our way to victory.
RD, Obama might have been a great candidate with incredible media cover, but he is a terrible President. Boxes wrapped up all pretty sometime have snakes in them, thus the intructions – be careful when opening.
I have been talking to Latinos in NOVA and they understand the farce that Obama played at the election. They are seeing that the Obama agenda is nothing more than a socialist agenda similar to the one that we are escaping from in Latin America. We (Latinos) are coming here with no English, no money, and with no jobs to start a life. We make it without the help of a government. I say to Dependent Democrats, what is your excuse, why can’t you make it, why do you need the help of a government to make it, what kind of excuse are you going to give me? You speak English, you live here from the beginning, you have family and friends, you have knowledge of the system and how things work here before me. Come on, you have it made and you want the government to be your father for life. If you want dependence keep voting Democrat.
LL,
Presidnet Obama barely 10% through his first term. Just what has he done, or not done, that has made him “a terrible President?” Even George W. Bush, by far the worst president EVER, was not condmed so early in his term.
Tito -
I hate to break this to you, pequeño niño, but the Latinos you’ve spoken to will tell you anything if it will get you to leave them alone. They think you’re obsessive and boring.
Oh, and I don’t know who sold you the crazy ideas you seem to hold about Democrats (was it…Limbaugh? Hannity? Beck?), but you’re wrong.
“Just what has he done, or not done, that has made him “a terrible President?”” – IBOB

I Bleed Bobo Ma Blue.
You seem to bleed all the way and your brain is full of Bobo ma Kool-Aid. Get real brother and get a job and leave that welfare alone. Food stamps do not pay for computer time. Section Eight housing does not come with internet. How do you make it… maybe Bobo ma payola? Or Bobo ma stimulus money? Stop taking it and make it like a real American.
I Bleed Bobo Ma Blue.
Calm, pequeño niño, rest your fevered head…
The dementia has swollen your brain, now.
There is no hope for you.
#52, Ryan -
I have to confess that #19 on your list above is the one that absolutely pissed me off to no end. In fact I am still LIVID about it.
How DARE he give the Prime Minister of Great Britain a box of DVDs, knowing that they were incompatible with Mr. Brown’s HiFi set-up. What a cruel, sick, and just plain despicable thing to do.
Damnit, I’m pissed off.
47 – I don’t think Boob for Jobs will connect with the Wal-mart segment of the electorate…With Deeds being pro 2nd amendment, I see rural VA and lib northern VA carrying Deeds at this point. Plenty of time for this to change though….the 1st ad campaign of McD will not get the job done…
I Bleed Bobo Ma Blue.
I know that you want to enslave Latinos and Brothers in the Welfare system. That way you have a pool of voters all the time. It is not going to happen so please PENDEJO go to your subsidized housing; get your food stamps and buy yourself Bobo Ma Kool-Aid, later you can park your self in the corner and don’t forget also the Colt 45.
McSavage, the things on my list in #52 that seem trite wouldn’t be a big deal EXCEPT that this excuse for a President has made so many big blunders, we can’t afford to have him making little ones.
“the Wal-mart segment of the electorate…” Who exactly is that? The people who spend the most at Wal-Mart? If so, my family qualifys.

I could not agree more! I am particularly outraged by #s 10, 23, 52, 90, and 100.
Inviting families to the White House Easter Egg Roll is TREASON!
Shaking hands with the leader of a foreign nation is PREPOSTEROUS!
Protecting lands for posterity is HERESY!
Not listening to Rush Limbaugh is ABSURD!
Using a teleprompter is a BETRAYAL!
“I know that you want to enslave Latinos and Brothers in the Welfare system.”
Pequeño niño, if they think like you, they’re already enslaved by a dogma far more confining than any prison cell.
Oh, and lay of the amphetamines, would ya?
“Not John, it’s time that you guys realize that Bush is out of the White Houes”
VA Blogger, your side howeld about Jimmy Carter for 28 years! Just like Democrats talked about Herbert Hoover into the 1970s. Reminding people of horrible Presidents has a long shelf life.
“I could not agree more! I am particularly outraged by #s 10, 23, 52, 90, and 100.”
“Inviting families to the White House Easter Egg Roll is TREASON!” No. inviting homos to come just to make a political point is the problem. (Hardly treason, I might add)
“Shaking hands with the leader of a foreign nation is PREPOSTEROUS!” No. He may as well have shaken hands with Hitler you blind Liberal.
“Protecting lands for posterity is HERESY!” This does nothing to help with the dependence on foriegn oil that he is so concerned with… Instead, we all will be forced to buy new cars we don’t want.
“Not listening to Rush Limbaugh is ABSURD!” No. Telling others who no to listen to is absurd. We expect that the Messiah wouldn’t listen to Rush.
“Using a teleprompter is a BETRAYAL!” No. Relying on his telepromter so much that he is not really making the speech, the guy running the telepromter is…

I don’t have enough time to answer this, honestly, if you want a rant I can’t even muster the energy to type it right now. Suffice it to say it has been a long week and my kind neighbor has invited me over for beer and pizza, that is much more important to me than answering your 10% question.
Plus, we have to drink the beer really quick before it gets taxed, at which point we will be forced to make moonshine in the basement.
I Bleed Bobo Ma Welfare Blue.
What it is your excuse Dependent Democrat? You change the subject with me because like many Dependent Democrats they blame others for their poor choices and the lack of desire to make it in America. Before, like Farrakhan and others they blamed the Jews, now they blame the rich and CEO’s. Be a man and make it on your own. Government Dependence is for PENDEJOS.
I came to America with nothing like millions of Latinos to a strange land and we make it. America it is the greatest and Dependent Democrats like you and your BOY BOBO MA want to “CHANGE” it to Dependent America. It is not going to happen.

When Tito Munoz starts posting on your blog and others agree with him, you know you’ve entered The Nutbar Zone for good. Who’s next, Black Velvet Bruce Li? The local Klan wizard?
Tito,
Ignore IBOB. HE won’t go away, and more importantly he is not worth insulting — because he is not worth the time.
RichDem,
don’t for get the Billy Bob from Arkansas. He married Hillary Rodham and she made him prez.
“He married Hillary Rodham and she made him prez.”
I actually agree with that. I think he would be a country lawyer in Arkansas right now if it weren’t for Hillary. She has always struck me as the brains behind the Clinton operation.
“Reminding people of horrible Presidents has a long shelf life.”
Unless, you know, they’re immediately followed by another horrible President.
BHO will be your GW Bush by this time next year.
Yes, Cato, and Hillary is inevitable, McAuliffe is a lock, etc.
An Obama Democrat equals Dependence equals Socialism.
I agree, Conventions are Bad for their respective Party. For the past several months, the Democrats have been getting all the media’s attention. A Brownlee/Ken C. would have drawn some attention away from the Democrat Primary. When will RVP learn that Conventions are bad? I guess NEVER.
Until I got down to the bottom of these comments (about the last 20 or so), I was thoroughly impressed with the conversation.
To get back on point: this will be a tough race and while I believe that Deeds has the advantage at this point, there is a whole lot of time left on the clock.
“For the past several months, the Democrats have been getting all the media’s attention. ”
Not to mention primaries pick the better candidates. If we had a convention instead of a primary, Moran would probably be our nominee.
Sorry to see the nutjob quotient going up around here. It’s happened before and they eventually slink back to their echo chambers at novatownhall or littlegreenfootballs.
The Ryans and Titos are the flip side of the same stupid coin where you can find the left wing nut jobs.
Believe it or not, EB, Charles Johnson of LGF is finally coming down from his post-9/11 fear jag and slowly regaining his lost sanity.
“54. Ordering his Cabinet to “cut” $100 million in spending in 90 days, after proposing nearly $5 trillion in spending in his first 90 days.”

That’ll break down exactly how meaningless the savings were.
And “Who’s next, Black Velvet Bruce Li? The local Klan wizard?”
Byrd (D) West Virginia—a Grand Dragon of the KKK , is going to post here???!!
Dependent Democrat politicians and blind followers will always use the Communist Chavez box of manipulating tricks and bigotry insults because they do not have reason to defend socialism in America.
Mr. or Mrs. edmundburkenator
Your assumption is that my comments are “the flip side of the same stupid coin where you can find the left wing nut jobs.”
In your opinion is it irrational to call the Welfare policies of the Democratic Party enslaving Socialist policies?
Some Democrats that I know are aware of the harm that these policies have inflicted on minorities. I challenge you to prove to me that welfare has improved the lives of the majority of minorities living under these conditions.
You comparison of me to a left wing nut is typical of Democrats that are not taking responsibility for their policies and voting records.
You can keep insulting me but I will not continue to be silent until the Socialist agenda of Democrats stop destroying families; especially the programs aimed at keeping minorities dependent.
Edmundburkenator and the Obama bleeder are two individuals who don’t understand how a Latino can promote conservative values and live a life of personal responsibility self reliance. How sad that they would feel the need to classify such a great new American as a “nut job.” It’s easy to resort to name-calling and labelling when you have nothing left in your arenal to disarm a threat, and Tito and I are both threats to the established stereotype of what Democrats want Republican support to look like. I hate to break it to you, but there are Latinos and Jews in the Republican Party and I’m glad to lead the way for others to follow.
When did I oppose personal responsibility and self reliance? Can you cite it for me?
Nut job = making stuff up
As far as voting records, go look at who voted for the programs that put our economy in the shitter. Hint: medicare, war.
If you are just a cheerleader for your respective party, be it R or D, you are not doing yourself, your party, or your country any favors.
They need to be exposed. Obama Democrats during the campaign used bigotry and discriminating comments to me because I support the Republican ticket. They called me spic, wet back and many other racist comments. These democrats are not representative of the Democratic Party. The party of JFK and his ideas has being hijacked by Socialists and they are full of hate. We know they are not the majority, but they for sure are in power and they are using their hatred against others for expressing their political views. I will continue to denounce their hatred, bigotry and racism against minorities that speak against their enslaving Socialist policies.
Yeah Tito, because the Republicans out in Prince William have been so just and kind to hispanics. It’s a paradise out there that’s just been flat-out ruined by Democrats. Be nice or maybe we’ll send David Corn back down to kick your ass.
Oh, and stop snorting your native country’s favorite export crop. I don’t mean the Juan Valdez one either.
Dependent Democrat politicians and blind followers will attack Latinos that express a different opinion than their Socialism agenda, but they called themselves the party of inclusion and tolerance, hypocrites!
I am not going to excuse bigotry in either side, but your Democratic Party is always talking and championing inclusion, tolerance and equality. Are you going to take responsibility for the actions of many bigots in your Party? Members of your Party are as guilty as many other racist people. Welfare is a racist socialist program and there is proof all over America of the destruction of minority families from these policies inflicted by Democrats.
Not happy with insulting me, now you are insulting the people of Colombia? 50 more Million of Hispanics in Colombia insulted and belittled by you. What an accomplishment, you are doing well for a Democrat!
I will be waiting not for David Corn but maybe for you if you have what it takes. I am thinking that this is a treat coming from a Democrat (“to kick your ass.”) Don’t worry; I will not call the police, but your written words are an example of the intolerance and desire to intimidate someone for having a different opinion. You have proved my point of people in your party exhibiting and practicing intolerance and exclusion. If I was like a sheep with a welfare mentality you would think that I was a “nice” Latino. Sorry but it will never happen.
Tito, put down the chalupa and back away from the door. You’re about to step into Republican Fantasyland and while the lobotomy seems to be taking, you may want to take a mallet to bang over your head of you ever start believing your own bullshit.
Dependent Democrat politicians and blind followers are the creators of the welfare system that keep minorities without hope and change. Now they are preaching hope and change to more government oppression and exclusion to be self-sufficient.
“Chalupa,” another bigoted insult to Hispanics again. Way to go Mr. Tolerance and inclusion! You just insulted 120 Million Mexicans; you have now a total of 210 millions including the Colombians from your previous insult. The way you are going there are not going to be any Latino Americans that you will not insult. That it is a great example of how it is to be a Democrat.
Tito –
I must agree that self-reliance and individual accountability are fundamental tenets of American democracy, and the American experience. Personally, I don’t know of anyone – Republican or Democrat, who is a huge advocate for creating a welfare state. You may believe otherwise, but I think you need to be careful in making sweeping generalizations.
Maybe this is a topic for another thread, but I would love to know, as a Latino American – what is your perspective on illegal immigration – or illegal migration? Should we round up Latino’s who are here in the U.S. illegally and send them back to their native lands? Should we erect a fence on the Mexican border? Should we create some kind of national ID card? Also, how do you feel about putting Spanish on an even footing with English as a second language? Seriously – what are your thoughts on these pressing issues?
“I hate to break it to you, but there are Latinos and Jews in the Republican Party and I’m glad to lead the way for others to follow.”
And I’m glad to help open the right doors so they do come to the realization that there is more to life than just taking the scraps from the democrat’s table.
Those Latinos with work ethic and a wide respect for the rule of law will be warmly welcomed into the local committee.
Ben
I don’t know if it is by choice or by ignorance, but there are many areas (barrios) that are not part of the American dream. I have lived in many of them and I have many friends that still live under circumstances that were created many years ago. Socialist policies that are not empowering Americans. They are keeping people from developing to their full potential. I do not care who is in power, but the policies that are inflicted in these American brothers and sisters I would not like for the worst of my enemies. Welfare is a system of oppression. Some politicians fight to keep welfare programs in their districts. I don’t know their reasoning, but I do know that these policies are keeping minorities in a system of oppression.
Illegal migration is a difficult topic and it is too complex to express in few sentences. It is better to discuss it in an atmosphere where there can be flowing dialogue, rather than on a blog. I am going to have a political meeting with Latinos who are interested in achieving the American dream and other friends that need help to be motivated. If you would like to come, you are invited and we can talk about these subjects and others. One of your questions I can answer easily is about language. English should be the language of this nation.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tito_the_Builder#Tito_the_Builder
I don’t know if this is the real one, or not.
Tito, I like you, and I like the way you think. My husband grew up in the welfare system and was the first to graduate college and later went on to graduate school. Socialism is personal for those of us who have witnessed its debilitating and suffocating effect on a life and on a family.
I have already had my day with IBOB and NJSM. They are two very insulting men who can not even use their first name as you have. Ignore them and pray for them.
Print off their disdainful and insulting comments and present them to your Latino/a community as an example of the hatred that brews from the Left. They are the far Left examples, but great ones for you to use in your community as to why not to vote Democrat. It proves their “tolerance” is a fake and they care not about people.
“My husband grew up in the welfare system and was the first to graduate college and later went on to graduate school.”
Not so enslaving, this welfare state…
I think RD might have nailed Tito with the link.
Tito, is that you?
This is the kind of bigotry that Latinos are exposed to every day in our lives. We have to fight bigotry at the work place, many times with customers or vendors at the construction sites, a lot of times with people in the street. Parts of the discussion in this blog is a great example of the kind of bigotry that I and many millions of minorities have to confront every day of our lives. This is what I am fighting and it will never defeat me or many Latino immigrants from making it in America.
Mr. or Mrs. edmundburkenator
In the response you give to Mrs. Julie, if one or some people are able to leave the system (Judge Soto mayor or Mrs. Julie’s husband), then you are saying that the system is not an enslaving system. So when Slavery was practiced in America, if someone was able to escape to the north and be free, your analysis is that the system was “Not so enslaving.”
It may be a good response for you, but it is a poor excuse for a system that has millions of Americans in the worse of situations. Try another way to justify a Socialist system that is oppressing Americans.
Hmm… slavery by force = today’s welfare system.
Do you not see why it is difficult to take you seriously?
Have you considered that the reactions you get from people are not those elicited by bigotry, but rather elicited by you being a sloganeering ideologue?
It’s Mr. by the way. Are you the Tito mentioned in the Wiki?
Julie and Tito, keep up the good work.
Edyburky, slavery by force = today’s welfare system? Yes, I see some similarities.
Ryan, you’ve plumbed the Marianas Trench of stupidity. You’re sure that choosing to receive welfare = slavery? Let’s compare: Slaves are property and have no rights. Welfare recipients are free to do whatever they choose, are bound to no one, and have all the rights bestowed by the Constitution. Hmmm…one of these is not like the other, Ryan.
In light of your general nonsensicalness, it’s no wonder you nutjobs are becoming more politically marginalized day by day.
Tito – thanks for your response. I concur, English should be the official language of the U.S. I respect your sentiment that illegal migration is a challenging topic to address on a blog. If you set up that meeting, let me know. I would be interested in better understanding the perspective of individuals who have migrated to the U.S. legally, but who are clearly aware that there are millions here illegally, particularly in terms of how the U.S. should address this issue.
Conceptually, I am a huge believer in the concept of self-reliance – consider these words from Ralph Waldo Emerson’s essay of the same name: “There is a time in every man’s education when he arrives at the conviction that envy is ignorance; that imitation is suicide; that he must take himself for better, for worse, as his portion; that though the wide universe is full of good, no kernel of nourishing corn can come to him but through his toil bestowed on that plot of ground which is given to him to till.”
I am no fan of welfare and again would insist that no one here D or R (that I know) would advocate for a welfare state. There are countless stories of people with nothing who have overcome their circumstances through hard work – through education – through a simple ambition to be successful, and these stories embody an American Dream that is still alive in my view. If you look at the construct of these individuals, the similarities are readily apparent: They refused to accept a pre-assigned station in life, and they worked exceptionally hard. Is this belief-set the result of a cultural dynamic? Is it somehow tied to an ethnic dynamic? Is it the result of how, as children, we are raised and socialized (to recognize the value of hard work)? I don’t know, but am inclined to think it’s the latter of the three. Clearly, not everyone is the beneficiary of being brought up to be self-reliant, nor does every person possess the intellect or innate drive to become productive members of society, while others are incapable of getting there by virtue of uncontrollable or self-inflicted infirmities. I would submit that Judge Sotomayor, and Mrs. Julie’s husband are proof that self-reliance is alive and well, and that welfare sustained them at least to the point where they figured out that they wanted something more from life than living on the public dole.
Unless there’s something that I am not understanding in your argument, as a society – we are better served by providing for the people like Sotomayor or Mrs. Julie’s husband – if only to allow them the opportunity to achieve the American dream. This is not to say or suggest that our welfare system is without flaws – it is, but finding a perfect system is an awfully tall order, as is finding someone who could serve as the arbiter for such a system. My two cents.
Ryan, Poor Bleeder doesn’t know an allegory or a metaphor when he sees one. Poetic license is lost on him. He takes things very literally so you must speak very slowly so he will understand.
There are certain relationships that enable dysfunction and promote stagnation in groups of people who come to rely on it. We have politicians as one partner in such a relationship, and voters who have bought promises for hand-outs on the other side of this relationship. Welfare dependency is a prime example of a relationship born out of dysfunction that will repeat itself in cycles for generations.
Aw, poor D-Mun. There’s nothing “poetic” about the ideological straightjacket in which you are trapped. It’s ironic that dysfunction and stagnation aptly describe conservatism and the Republican Party: Unable to unite, unable to move forward. Bankrupt of ideas, petty sniping is the only avenue to vent your pent-up frustrations. That’s sad, and I pity you.
Many times in the past, people have laid this same charge IBOB, (Republican Party: Unable to unite, unable to move forward. Bankrupt of ideas) However, if you observe history you will see that we have always come out stronger. Take Clinton and the ‘94 elections for example.
http://www.citizenlink.org/Stoplight/A000009289.cfm
Ben, what’s this about not knowing any dems who want welfare? How do you think we got it? FDR and the New Deal, LBJ and the Great Society, Clinton and Obama with “change” for the health care system… Yeah, I think welfare is a dem creation, and I think they want it.
Back here in reality, Ryan, such a historical repeat, while possible, is not very likely.
“The true farce of 2010 may be a Republican party that finds itself well-positioned to take control in Washington, but completely unable to do so.”

Mr. Ben,
I am a true believer in the greatness of this country. I look back at American history to make my judgment to any political argument. The Founding Fathers knew what kind of government we needed in America. They also knew of the dangers of a big government and especially the consequences from corrupted politicians or government.
The welfare system is corrupted in two ways. First, some politicians are using the system and the people in the system to accomplish a political future for them. I know that some of these politicians do not care about the future of the people. Instead they are counting votes, votes that are secured for futures to come. It is irresponsible for them to look back 30 years and not take notice of the danger that the welfare system is doing to the people they represent. If you have a chance, go to the Barrios and look at the conditions inside their housing and schools. Look at their ideas of what they think is going to be their future. Look at their aspiration when they are little and then when they are ready to finish High School, if they finish. It is easy to look from a distance. Go there; live there, experience with them. Get a feeling for what the system gives them and maybe we can have a better understanding of these policies. I did.
Second, welfare is not helping enough people for the system to be efficient. To the contrary, it has created a worse environment for the future kids of these families. (Drugs, gangs, crime, abuse, etc…) I am believer that welfare is not the only system that can be used to help others. In a country with millions of intelligent people it is sad to believe that welfare is the only solution. I know from experiences that are other methods that are more practical and humane. I believe that welfare is an inhumane system. I don’t know anyone who has lived under the presence of welfare or under that system and after being out of that can tell me that it was a good experience.
I think that as Americans and as believers we have the need to help others to achieve a better life. I do not believe that is the responsibility of the government. A welfare system will always be full of corruption and full of mistakes.
Let’s give these Americans the dignity of a better future and not systems that will keep them from achieving the best.
Mr. edmundburkenator
According to your analysis you are saying that the person that mentions the Chalupa is not using bigotry. Why then did he not mention a Big Mac.? Chalupa is used to disrespect and offend in a racist way. This is bias insulting a Latino using some kind of food item (Taco, Chalupa, Burrito, etc…)
With the other comment the person uses the drug comment to denigrate a Colombian using the worse stereotype to insult and belittle a Colombian native. That also is a bigoted statement.
I know that you once again you will try to divert the conversation, but it has been proven here in the writings of Democrats using bigotry and insults to diminish an American Latino Immigrant. That it is the worse example of people that profess to be inclusive and tolerant; instead it is a prime example of racism as its best.
And last, why do you want to know who I am? Perhaps you are going to try to dig into my past to denigrate me a little more. Or could it be that you will try to do what the news media did to Joe the Plumber? Find out if my real name is Tito, or if I paid my Taxes. Maybe you want to see if one of my sons or daughters has created a child without being married to insult me, my wife, my children and grand children? Why are you so interested in destroying your opponent? Is it because of fear? Maybe that is the best argument that you can get? If you want to know me I am all over Virginia and it will be easy to find me if you want.
“Tito, put down the chalupa and back away from the door.”
Sorry, pequeño niño, but that statement isn’t racist. The word chalupa is not used in a derogatory manner and there is no prejudice or discriminatory intent in the statement.
Nice try, though, playing the victim. How did it feel?
Similarities or what? This is what I called Socialism: Chavez controls the banking industry; Obama controls some banking industry. Chavez sent the army and takes over private industry; Obama will send the unions with card check to take over the private industry. Chavez controls how much you can make for items or services; Obama is appointing a Pay Czar. Chavez has a Cuban style medicine system; Obama wants to have Socialized medicine in America. Chavez controls the energy industry; Obama wants to regulate what kind of energy industry we can have. Chavez is known for being a Marxist Socialist; Obama is known for Hope and Change. I have seen it. It is happening in America, Socialism in the name of change and hope.
IBOB, realclearpolitics.com does not determine an election. the people do.
Unions protect workers from management. Businesses saved from insolvency by the government SHOULD have salary caps. The healthcare system in this country is BROKEN and cannot be fixed by more of the same old policies (market forces, my a$$). Yep, the energy industry need to be regulated, otherwise our environment would be destroyed. It’s sad, pequeño niño, that you think hope and change are “Marxist Socialist” concepts. Very sad indeed.
Neither does citizenlink.org, Ryan.
IBOB,
True.
But I think they had some good points in the Deja Bill video. The Republican Party isn’t dead, and is still a force for the dems to contend with…
Hope and change are “Marxist Socialist” concepts, IF it is the “hope and change” Broke Economy Obamay is talking about.
Tito, I just wanted to know if you were the guy in the Wiki.
So you are right wing AND paranoid.
Scary.
And I think that the RCP article had much better points with regard to 1994 v. 2010. C’est la vie, n’est-ce pas?
Ah, so anything President Obama espouses is, by definition, “Marxist Socialist”? I’ll keep that in mind.
“…I think they had some good points in the Deja Bill video.”
Like the part about U2? Or Hillary? Or the economy? Please… That video was pure tripe, Ryan.
Dependent democrat politicians and blind followers are enslaving minorities in the welfare mentality for them to have secure votes for ever. These are the real Racist.
No, IBOB. That video was funny. It’s purpose was to compare the Clinton era’s and the Obama error’s similarities, which it did.
You don’t know, and I don’t know who will win in ‘09, ‘10, or ‘12. Don’t get complacent, the Republican Party is poised for a come back.
Los comentarios the IBOB, edmundburkenator y Not John S. Mosby son unos comentarios discriminates.
“Dependent democrat politicians and blind followers are enslaving minorities in the welfare mentality for them to have secure votes for ever.”
That’s a right fine fantasy you’ve got there, Tito.
Too bad for you that voters of every stripe have figured out that Democratic policies are simply more beneficial than Loser…er, ah…Republican policies.
Enjoy tiliting at windmills out there in the wilderness, mi muchacho muy pequeño.
It is a great pleasure to mention to my Conservative friends that this Blog is being monitored by two Spanish-speaking radio stations. The writings of many here will be used in a Spanish interview that will be aired soon. It will be interesting news to explain to the Latino audience the racist comments used against me by some of the Democrats. Also I will be explaining the subject (welfare) and the system that is keeping many minorities without any hope. Thank you for the good examples and unfortunately I have to get back to work. I don’t live at the expenses of the government and I don’t expect anything from a politician.
Bleeder-
If you’re going to write in Spanish, it would benefit you to learn the language first, unless you don’t mind identifying yourself as a man who has desire for little boys. Men don’t address each other that way (”mi muchacho”) unless they are partners in an intimate relationship.
“It will be interesting news to explain to the Latino audience the racist comments used against me by some of the Democrats.”
Really, mi muchacho muy pequeño, it would be far easier to simply make up disparaging comments that you can attribute to Democrats…but, whatever makes you happy. Oh, and be sure to take as many comments as you can out of context to heighten the communication of your paranoid dilutionsto your fellow Latinos.
Thanks for the tutorial, D-Mun. Perhaps you know Tito better than I?
Tito, you called posters “pubic hair” in two of your Spanish diatribes. Is that your way of bringing up the discourse?
Oh, and I hope that Tito and Debbie do get lots of airtime. Any hispanics still unsure of who they support will flock to Democratic candidates after listening to those nutbars describe their political theories. Both of you should head out to Prince William and help translate for the police as they pull over to check latinos for their immigration status. For every marxist group in every Central/South American country there is an opposite fascist group that wants the same type of control as the marxists and don’t give a shit about the vast percentage of the population that lives between those two extremes. Feel free to buddy up to our own domestic right-wing ideologues, they’ll be glad to have you on board to support their candidates. Just don’t plan on supporting any hispanic candidates anytime soon though because they are close to non-existent on the Republican side.
Tito, Jeff “Fredrick” Frederick is half-Colombian I believe, on his mother’s sides. Are you two relatives/friends by chance?
Okay, Tito – I can respect your distaste for our current welfare system, but I think that the heart of the issue has more to do with the breakdown of the nuclear family among many (not all, but many) welfare recipients as opposed to some kind of preconceived, premeditated attempt on the part of elected officials to keep people down. I think you could argue that there are politicians who are disinterested in people who are on welfare, but these politicians are both Rs and Ds (and what I mean is that these politicians have other priorities and don’t much care about a major welfare overhaul).
As for the drugs/crime/gangs – again, I think that there’s a fair amount of research that’s been done that suggests that the biggest issue in areas suffering from these problems is the lack of a reliable parental structure and a parental framework that provides positive role models and examples to those who are most prone to have an ongoing dependence on welfare. I’m not an expert on this subject – nor would I claim to be, but I do know that when I was growing up divorce was a rarity – having a child out of wedlock was a rarity – crime was typically petty in nature. We can’t turn back the hands of time. So you don’t like the current system and regard it to be inhumane – what would you prefer to see in place of the current system?
If you don’t want your identity revealed, don’t post with your real name. I don’t, mostly because I don’t want to lose my job for posting at work!
These things are easily googled.
Michael was as much a douchebag here as he was prognosticator, huh?
McDonnell won, dumbass. So much for you being able to read a full wall of writing.
Uhhhhhh…Tito can handle his own. He’s a big boy. Aince this thread, the Conservative radio show for hispanics has taken off like mad. The damned thing threatens to go viral and syndicate.
