i really need to talk about the REdskins. i might need therapy after today.

yeah, yeah, we all know Creigh deeds didn’t want to debate.

  • RichmondDem says:

Let me know when McDonnell goes on Olbermann’s show or Air America.

  • kelley in virginia says:

dem: mcD is running for governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia–a really big responsibility unless you are as smart as Timmy Kaine & can hold down DNC job at same time. we are down to the final 4 1/2-5 weeks of the campaign. McD doesn’t have time to go on a show, such as Olbermann’s, that has such low viewership.

  • Loudoun Lady says:

    Air America is still around?

RD: Wa-Wa-Wa – Obama and Deeds can’t handle bad, dirty old Fox News! You all sound like babies, man up and debate the issues Deeds.

  • R says:

Remind me what those viewership stats are, Kelley.

  • kelley in virginia says:

R: Drudge posts the ratings every week or 2 weeks.

also, over at HotAir, one poster says the entire city of DC is on suicide watch about the ballgame.

i really someone here would offer some solace.

  • Cato the Elder says:

“Remind me what those viewership stats are”
Something like .31 (roughly 1 million viewers) of what a turd like O’Reilly gets in the same timeslot. I guess that’s a good sign, that there’s an upper bound to the batshit crazy American-hating Marxist cable-watching crowd.

  • There’s no solace to be found. Jim Zorn is horrible. The whole team is playing like they’ve never had a week of practice – how many flubbed snaps were there in the game today? We can barely score a touchdown, and anytime we need to convert a first down or score on the goal line, we get destroyed.
There needs to be some serious shakeups. I’m hoping Snyder can invest some of his money into human cloning – maybe we can get George Allen back to coach the team.

  • Cato the Elder says:

Oh, and if I were a hapless dolt like Deeds with no integrity and an innate inability to produce an original thought I’d be dodging debates too.
Barney Fif^^^ er, I mean Deeds couldn’t win even if the debate were held in Cassandra Brewer’s timeslot with Ed Schultz as moderator.

  • Cato the Elder says:

“Iā€™m hoping Snyder can invest some of his money into human cloning”
Frankly, I’m hoping Snyder’s wife will catch him with a hooker and the Family Court judge will direct him to sell the team in the divorce settlement. That’s the only way the Skins will get better.

  • kelley in virginia says:

Its not Zorn’s fault. dont’ you think Jason Campbell is getting paid enough money to do something? something? ***** ordinarily i complain that we need to get help to the O-line, but the D did nothing today.****when Haynesworth went down, my first thought “$100 million gone”.

  • kelley in virginia says:

Brian: Vince Lombardi was “interested in victory”. would that be ok in the nation’s capitol?

  • Loudoun Lady says:

Zorn’s play calling is horrible. Finally in the second half he made some decent calls when they had a hurry up offense, but when he has the time – his calls make no sense.

I agree with Cato, all we can hope for is a divorce so that Snyder has to sell the team. No head coach can thrive under Dan Snyder.

  • If you are a Redskin fan, like I am, it’s harder and harder to root for them with Snyder at the helm.
He and Cerato are football idiots and he’s tarnished what I though might be an untarnishable brand.

  • R says:

Still in disbelief over the game. I remember when they were actually good and still did training at Shrine Mont.

  • wolverine says:

A Lion fan for much of my youth (when they actually won championships) and a Redskins fan the rest of my years. This is all I needed. Now I’ve got two reasons to be pissed off.

  • Lovettsville Lady says:

Jim Zorn is in WAAAAAY over his head. He calls the dumbest plays. And we’re all stuck with Snyder, no matter what. I’m with Cato, a nasty divorce may be the only way out for Skins fans. This is truly depressing. Just when I get my old Super Bowl cereal boxes framed for my bar. šŸ™ They torture me every time I see them. Will their be another Super Bowl in my lifetime? Not as long as we have Snyder calling the plays for everything.

  • Fire Jim Zorn, Dan Snyder, Vinnie Cerrato, and Jason Campbell! (I know this is asking way too much.) Start from scratch and we should start seeing some positive results.

  • kelley in virginia says:

CCC: i agree with you except i would keep zorn & give him one more year. there have been flashes of greatness (but that is when the zillion dollar players actually perform).

  • G. Stone says:

    1. The owner acts like he playing fantasy football. He is not a football guy and it shows. His football decision making process is deeply flawed.
    2. Vinnie Cerrato should have been fired a long time ago.
    3. Jim Zorn may have become a decent head coach had he spent a year or two as an offensive coordinator.
4.The transition from Gibbs II to what they have now was one on the worse transitions in the history of the league. Personality trumped what could have been continued success. They had a new Al Saunders offensive system that was inserted a year prior. The offensive was getting better as they learned that system. Starting over in this case was not a good decision.
    5. Their QB is averAGE AT BEST

  • kelley in virginia says:

and to the moderators/owners of this blog: a Sunday football thread would be good & require little work on your part. just sayin…..

  • TruthSeekerVA says:

I was thinking if they are looking for contributors, why not just have an open thread everyday? That way people could discuss the issue of the day…something in the Washington Post or Loudoun paper, comments on county government etc… Yeah, it will open it up to some lunatics, but people will weed them out on their own.
