Reporting from the Advance, the RPV Luncheon featuring the three statewide candidates was followed by the annual RPV Awards ceremony. The two big winners were the Fairfax County Republican Committee and Anthony Bedell, who won Outstanding Unit of the Year, and Loudoun County’s Glen Caroline, who won Unit Chairman of the Year, out of 135 localities in Virginia. In addition, Bedell won Chairman of the Year in the 11th District and Caroline’s LCRC won Unit of the Year in the 10th District.
Props to Bedell were passed out by all three candidates as well as RPV Pat Mullins (Bill Bolling even led the room of 200+ in singing “Happy Birthday” to Bedell, who is now almost old enough to rent a car) for McDonnell’s big win in Fairfax County, our two new Delegates Jim LeMunyon and Barbara Comstock, our almost Chairman Pat Herrity, our new Supervisor John Cook, and new School Board Member Patty Reed. Of course Fairfax staff Seamus Owens and Kerry O’Brien, and Fairfax Victory Directors Adam Zubowsky and Kiley Smith deserve their share of the credit as well.
So congratulations to Anthony Bedell and Glen Caroline, and let’s hope that these guys continue to lead Republicans to victory in Nothern Virginia for a long, long time.

W00t!
Let’s not forget new Delegate Tag Greason.

Much deserved praise all around. Let’s get it started!
Scooped by VABlogger. The gall of it all!!!
Glad you reported it. I haven’t had time to sit down at the computer till now.
Congrats to the Chairmen and their respective units!
Now, if we can get the Chair down there in PWC to step up his game and that unit, we’ll continue to carry NoVa with much more conviction…..setting aside the hollow rhetoric that it’s firmly “blue”.
blue coverage of the event:

My favorite vignettes?
“why don’t Democrats have this from their Central Committee meeting?”
and
“for the millionth time, why we can’t we hear this kind of rhetoric from the Democratic Party of Virginia about PROGRESSIVE principles and values?!?”
Sounds like the wave still stings a bit..
Two comments:
1. I am younger than Pat Mullins
2. Lyle does an AWESOME job as Chairman of PW and should be recognized as well. PW’s results were excellent! In fact all the unit chairs in NoVA are fabulous. Alexandria, Arlington, City of Falls Church, City of Fairfax… excellent work.
Congratulations Mr. Bedell from a happy LeMunyon supporter in the Loudoun portion of the 67th, and keep kicking BUTT!

You know Mr. Chairman, a great follow up to that line would have been “and I have the birth certificate to prove it.”
Two great awards given to two truly wonderful guys.
Congratuations, Glen and Anthony, for your achievements. They are very much deserved and we are all appreciative of your leadership and extraordinary efforts.
Mr. Bedell, My apologies to Lyle…but if we never hear his name up here, he’s still under the radar. I’m absolutely tickled that we have the coverage of the area and the solidarity of all these units. See you on Monday evening?
I have to agree with Bedell. PWC was messed up BAD until Lyle stepped up and took over the Chairmanship. Good going Anthony……you deserve the recognition. You’re still a PUNK…haha.
[...] Update: Here’s an on-the-spot report from VA Blogger over at TooConservative.com. [...]
Loudoun has made tremendous strides under Caroline’s team.
(1) The intra-party squabbles are gone from the meetings by design;
(2) the waste-of-time resolutions are gone; and
(3) the more lengthy policy-related speakers are presented at the newly created Ronald Reagan lecture series (thanks Patricia Phillips) instead of at the LCRC meetings.
FINALY, the committee is 100% FOCUSED on the one thing we can ALL agree on: developing a strong grassroots base in Loudoun to get our Republican candidates elected!
This was the Caroline-Team’s plan from the outset, its been implemented, it works, the membership is growing, people enjoy going to the meetings and now its been recognized as the winning strategy at the highest levels of RPV.
Thanks Glen from all your admirers.
Congratulations!!! And thank you very, very much – your efforts have truly made a difference.
Both guys kick ass, congratulations. Maybe this will finally shut up the persistent old-school Glen Caroline detractors??? Naaaaahhhhhhhh, but it’s nice to think it might anyway! Actually, I really hope those 2 or 3 self-centered idiots keep mouthing off so they can be further marginalized. Glen Caroline is a grassroots PROFESSIONAL, not some ego-ridden charlatan wanna be.
I for one would like to thank Randy Minchew for his recruitment and unwavering Former Chairman support of Glen Caroline.
Candidate search and support is the most underestimated of all political talents and is so critical for success. It is one thing to find good leadership talent and it is another thing to actively support these nascent leaders once elected.
Minchew did both here.
Kudos to Chairman Caroline!
Carrie, I could not agree more. Randy’s a class act and he’s done our cause great service both himself and in who he brings to the team.
Great work, Glen and Team! We will be giving you kudos at the National Organization of Conservative Women Inaugural Luncheon with Mrs. McDonnell and Mrs. Bolling as Honorary Guests with Senator Jill Vogel as we celebrate Victory In Virginia!
Well, FCRC has come a long way since Bedell took over last December. I am glad to see the award was given to FCRC for a lot of hard work. Glenn Caroline deserves the award for having to put up with the wing-nuts in Loudoun such as Joanne Chase…perhaps better than a plaque someone should have gotten a baseball bat or stun gun.
I’ve got more on that topic later, NovaRep. Needless to say she’s one of those 2 or 3 persistent Glen Caroline bashers.
Congratulations to Anthony and Glen! No one could have a done a better job that you two. It was amazing, everything you did worked so very well. Thanks to both of you for all that you did for us as our leaders, and for our republican candidates. I am proud to be on your team!
Having seen the FCRC through two cycles now, I am amazed at how far we’ve come. Anthony runs a tight ship – we haven’t had one argument over Robert’s Rules in a meeting since he took over.
.
I’m happy to see him get this award, and hope it gives him a push to keep the job for another cycle or two!
Congrats to both leaders.
Having served with Glen, this is a well deserved award. His organizational skills, drive, focus and political insight are first rate.
