But thank God Loudoun County will be a leader in the reduction of greenhouse gases! When are the inspectors coming to check my thermostat level, anyway?

Clearly it is time to point every aerosol spray can in your house skyward and press the buttons. We need some global warming.
THAT’s funny right there.
I want to be like Al Gore. That way I, too, can demand $1200 US for an autograph.
Can Al Gore do some of that fire-breathing we saw at NVTH? And will Andrea McGimsey be helping old people shovel out of their houses today?
Al Gore can help shovel my driveway.
LI,
It’s ridiculous alarmist posts like this that destroy the credibility of this blog. You’ve turned a vehicle that once had serious political potential into a mere joke. Merry Christmas. The petro-Christian God loves you and shed his crude for your sins. Repent and forgive your debtors.

trickster, credibility; trickster….credibility…..
hmmmmmmmmm
(my son cleaned up–literally and figuratively–today with his shovel. he thinks Gore is an absolute moron, and is glad for the Gore effect, because shoveling is good money.)
Merry Christams to all, even you, trollster.
Man, I’m such a carbon sinner.

I volunteered today an one of the inova hospitals that needed people with 4wd vehicles. For the record I have a honkin’ 12mpg vehicle w/4″ lift. Also for the record, I not only left the vehicle running while waiting on the shift change, but gunned the engine enthusiastically. On days like today, you don’t have to content yourself with only the tacit knowledge that your outsized emissions are rising to the stratosphere – nay you can literally see the filthy CO2 cloud in ascendancy. I confess the sight made me feel a little warmer inside.
*
Does that make me bad?
Alarmists post beat “tricked data” hands down EVERYDAY…..from here on. Get over it.
No Cato–When my son was due (late January 96) we were in the grip of snow like this, and our neighbor in the apartment building with the jeep was kind enough to come by and volunteer to get me to the hospital if I needed him to–as long as I promised not to have the baby in the jeep!
Not bad for a young single fellow, who always volunteered for the local hospital in bad weather!
I would bet everybody you helped today thinks you’re better than fine.
I have to give Loudoun County credit, they’ve plowed my rural road several times today, including after the storm, about midnight tonight. When my handy man plows my driveway tomorrow, I may actually be able to get out of Lovettsville for Steve Hunt’s fundraiser. Not bad at all for 18 inch snow fall.
Andrea McGimsey just finished shoveling my driveway. Who needs her next ?
Go shovel snow, Trickster (more appropriate than “go pound sand”).
Andrea McGimsey just called. Do any of you have tire chains to fit a Prius ?
Just returned from a difficult night. My friend Estela went into labor and couldn’t get out of her drive. I ran two miles through the snow carrying my midwife tools in my backpack. I got there around 11:00 PM. It was a difficult labor. She pushed for hours but the baby wouldn’t come. I reached into here womb and discovered that the baby was breech. I was able to turn the baby. She continued to push but the baby wouldn’t come. At sunrise we both prayed that the child would live a sustainable life and God loosened her cervix and the baby’s head emerged. More pushing and I delivered a beautiful baby girl named Mariah. Mother and baby are doing fine. I shoveled Estela’s drive and returned home. The street still hasn’t been plowed. I’m going to nap for a couple of hours and then ride my snow bike over to the food bank.
Great work, Trickster….
Glad you were about. You do know that it’s going to be a republican baby, however? It was born in a blizzard, so the whole global warming thing is a foriegn concept to it already!!
I wish someone would come and haul some of this snow away. I don’t have a big enough yard to pile it high enough to get my cars out.
Oh no, Al Gore was wrong! It’s a new Ice Age!
I can generalize from anecdotal evidence as well as the next guy.
(Hard to explain away the lack of a polar ice cap though.)
Hey it is NOT global warming anymore it is now called Climate Change
LeeJ: And I’ll testify that a foot of snow on the ground in Richmond before Christmas is a change in the climate. We usually don’t get significant snowfall until January or February — if then.
That’s exactly when we get the load. Don’t dismiss it yet…it’ll be here this year. I called it last year, since we seem to get the motherload immediately in years after a drought. February of 2002 fit that mold, and we got 34″ out here in several back-to-back storms.
As for the Ice shelf, you have heard that it’s increasing over the past 6 years, right?
BTM, I truly don’t want to open a general conflagration over climate change, but no, the ice shelf is not increasing and has not been increasing over the last six years.
.
I am old enough and have seen enough to be skeptical of anyone telling me the sky is falling. However, some of the things being said by folks trying to score political points with the anti-intellectual crowd don’t resemble the truth in any way.
.
I have always thought the data collected from ice cores in Greenland provide compelling evidence that the earth may be in a period of cooling. They provide a record that goes back a few hundred thousand years. There is more than a little evidence that would indicate the opposite. Like the dramatically shrinking ice shelf.
.
For those who believe the earth is only six thousand years old I guess the three hundred thousand years of data are irrelevant. Feel free to continue to believe that global warming is just God hugging us closer.
.
Oh, that Law of Gravity is bunk too. There is no such thing as gravity. It is just God pushing things down. Damned secular humanists with all their Satan inspired science!
