BREAKING NEWS! JIM RICH NOT RUNNING FOR RE-ELECTION
By Loudoun Insider
Boy this really throws a wrench in the coming battle! Jim Rich has just recently decided to not run for re-election as 10th District Chairman due to family concerns. At this time former Leesburg town councilman David Schmidt seems to be the only other candidate to file besides wacko Howie Lind. Schmidt is a good guy and will be the presumptive candidate for the mainstream. More to come as things develop.
UPDATE: Her Self-Appointed Highness Jo-Ann Chase stops by to fan the flames with an incoherent frothing comment, and to stump for Howie Lind and Mark Sell. Their opponents jump for joy!

Barbara,
I believe you have short circuited, you have totally become unglued. Your remarks are incoherent. Please, get back on your meds. You have no justification to attack Dorothy. She makes a lots of sense and is rational on her remarks.
“It has never sat well with me that the first I heard of Ms. Strother was an endorsement of her election by a variety of people”. Perhaps you should have been attending meetings. She’s been a part of us for quite some time.
“So here comes someone no doubt a nice person, who has served in some capacities too” —yeah, Babs…and has worked his butt off for Republicans and has donated time and money to the Tenth District at a rate of 3 to 1 what Howie has. Lind coudn’t even attend meetings he was elected to attend, and has yet to give any money to the Tenth District.
“not a one of them (some of whom support and have endorsed Mark Sell) asked me to attend a meeting of a group in which I do not hold membership to vote a proxy for someone”- so, you’re saying you feel left out, then?
No Dean, I’m saying that when people like you come out guns a’blazin in full attack mode, I start checking the freshness of the fish being offered (shoved at me).
Please excuse me, but your endorsement is a (usually negative) bellwether for me much as any I might make would be an attack cue for you.
Dorothy hon, although the winged monkeys frequently pull at me (see Dean et some–lol), I’m just fine thanks.
I doubt the Wiz could do much for me, as he is the quintessential Man Behind The Curtain.
Jim Rich’s farewell letter is posted at the top of the page. Say what you want about the man, but he has dedicated an awful lot of time and money to the Republican cause. He is to be commended.
And we’re happy to see him gone & replaced with the sound leadership of Howie Lind!
Sound leadership that edged the guy to miss most of his required meetings? Leadership that has been devoid of any financial contribution to the Committee he now wants to run? What exactly, has he “actually” done for the 10th , over the years?
Leadership is something you do, not something you feel the need to strip down.
Barbara, this has been fun. Thanks.
Now off to check Oz.
Dean, I stress that this is something I’ve HEARD–perhaps you can verify–maybe you should for all of us before you do any more cheap attack–is that some of those missed meetings were work-related/out of country/in a war zone.
You’ve served, so has he, and if what he’s doing is any kind of troop support, and YOU TWO ARE SUPPOSEDLY ON THE SAME TEAM, maybe you should moderate your mouthfoam a bit?
Just tap your heels if you get in trouble Dorothy, and in this neck of the haunted woods, it is perfectly okay to believe in spooks.
And winged monkeys.
And the late lamented Wicked Witch of the East.
AAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
If Mr. Lind has actually been involved in support of troops, I applaud that. But it had better bear further scrutiny. And in elected office (SCC) you have to pick your allegiances, lest you remind folks of Kaine’s “very important work ” for the DNC, that precluded his time to function as a Governor.
If Howie Lind supported or really cared about the military, he would not vote to disenfranchise them, by voting for conventions every time. Some of his cohorts actually said that our brave men and women of armed services knew what they were getting themselves into, when they signed up to serve their country.
I believe he is a lobbyist.
You don’t get elected knowing that you can’t attend the meetings, there is what we call responsibility. He wasn’t that busy when he sent all the emails regarding Frederick.
So now Lind is Kaine, Dean? Okay…
Glenda (the Good?), nice to meet you. So, Lind is tainted by association, and conventions are bad, mm-kay?
How worried are you guys that you might not get what you want?
Barb, I’m obviously a little bit worried, hence my comment in the post above that Schmidt better get his butt moving campaigning. And let me be straight here, I am not in this for any type of personal aggtrandizement whatsoever. I have no plans to ever run for any office of any type. It isn’t about what I want, it’s about having a viable broad based Republican party. I worry for Frank Wolf if Lind wins this race. Lind is another Jeff Frederick style “conservative” primed to make a lot of stupid public coments.
