voteFor the record, neither myself or Loudoun Insider have anything to do with the banners on the site.  They reflect Vincent’s (Too Conservative) stance on the race, as he is working for Keith Fimian.  I have personally endorsed Pat Herrity and am serving as a precinct captain for him.  However, I have not advocated here, or elsewhere, on his behalf after I accepted the FCRC Communications Director position.  The banners at the top with Fimian’s picture do not reflect my personal stance, which is in favor of Herrity, or my professional stance, which is neutral.

.

I hope everyone who can votes tomorrow, regardless of which candidate they are supporting.  The polls will be open from 6 AM to 7 PM tomorrow, June 8th.  All registered voters are welcome to vote in the primary.  I’ll be out at Monument Precinct most of the day, so if you’re in the neighborhood of the Fairfax County Government Center, feel free to stop by and say hello.

.

Tomorrow is the first step in firing Gerry Connolly, retiring Nancy Pelosi, and taking our country back.  Be a part of it. Vote!

Is Fimian still one of “Virginia’s Conservative Leaders” if he loses???

  2. (Not) Jeannemarie Devolites Davis

I wonder how much I’d have to pay to become a “conservative leader” on this blog? There should be a price listing somewhere on this site…

  3. Loudoun Insider

Just added the “Not” to the above comment, as I am certain it isn’t JMDD. Pretty damn hilarious, however!

  4. Is there a reason KC is a “conservative” leader….also how is the Sec. of Transportation a “conservative leader”

What about Kilgore, Frederick, Allen, Gilmore? (note that I’m not endorsing the idea, others might be thinking it.)

In any event, I agree with Brian. Vote 2morrow!

  5. Steering this away from the funny comments above, who should be considered Virginia’s conservative leaders? I think that NJM raises an interesting discussion to be had.

The three statewide electeds are pretty much a given — McDonnell, Bolling and Cuccinelli. Who else?

  6. A GOTV picture of Keith Fimian…wearing Pat Herrity campaign colors.

Tossing in the towel, or bad fashion sense?

  7. I may not be a Cuccinelli supporter, not by a mile, but he is one our conservative leaders. I’d also think that George Allen qualifies.

  8. BlackOut

RightOnGallows. I agree with you. in fact, right beside Cucci should be Eugene Delgaudio and Dick Black. They fit right in.

  9. Too Conservative

Let’s all be friends again after Keith wins tomorrow.

Look forward to catching up then. Until then… Off to work I go,

  10. What happens when Pat wins tomorrow?

No sense, VA Blogger, in postulating something so improbable.

  12. HisRoc

Keith Fimian got waxed 55% to 43% two years ago against Connolly when Gerry did not have incumbency on his side. Exactly what do you folks think has changed in this election cycle that will make him the strongest candidate to beat Connolly? If you are counting on the anti-incumbency mood in the country, that will provide perhaps a 2-5 percentile boost. But it won’t make up an 8-point deficit.
    .
Is the objective here to retire Gerry Connolly or to maintain ideological purity at all costs? After all, look how well that worked for the Republicans in the US Senate race two years ago.

  13. HisRoc

    Correction. 12-point deficit.

  14. Anthony Ferguson

Yea, and Cuccinelli and McDonnell won Fairfax county in the statewide elections of 2009. Oh, and FFX county is the most liberal part of the district. If Cuccinelli can win FFX county, I am sure Fimian can.

  15. Fimian lacks what Ken has; political talent and skill.

  16. HisRoc

    Anthony,
    .
Cooch and McDonnell weren’t running against Connolly who, love him or hate him, is a much stronger campaigner than either Shannon or Deeds. They also underperformed their statewide percentages in Fairfax County by double digits.
    .
There is no comparison between the two elections and anyone who thinks that Fimian can win is whistling past the graveyard.

  17. I hate to point this out, but Cuccinelli actually didn’t win Fairfax County in 2009.

  18. To be fair, the Cooch did win the 11th district.

    McDonnell won it bigger.

  19. Anthony Ferguson

Well, I stand corrected. However, to be fair, Herrity couldn’t win Fairfax County against “gerry” atric Sharron Buluva.

  20. HisRoc

    VA Blogger,
    .
Good catch. Shannon beat Cooch by four points in Fairfax County, even with Fairfax City included. McDonnell barely beat Deeds by less than two points in Fairfax County, compared with his 18-point margin statewide.
    .
I don’t see how that portends a conservative Republican win in the 11th CD.

  21. Anthony Ferguson

Who is certainly a much weaker candidate than Gerry Connolly!

  22. HisRoc

    Anthony,
    .
Herrity vs. Bulova was a Special Election. Those are notoriously low-turnout events that rarely predict the trends in General Elections. It’s an apples and oranges comparison.

  23. HisRoc

    Anthony,
    .
Connolly is clearly vulnerable this fall. If you don’t believe me, then why has he been spending so much money on campaign ads so early? But it is far from certain that any Republican can beat him.
    .
The message to Republicans tomorrow is: choose wisely or you’ll regret it in November.

  24. you guys should really start your own blog similar to Virtucon. I feel bad that your have to continually post about how you disagree with banners, et al.

  25. Herrity has the benefit of Loudoun’s immediate past GOTV man…. the one who doesn’t have to observe the party rules of Chairs and officials not favoring one candidate over the other. I was relieved of those shackles by the current Chair and company. Thanks guys!!

  26. Anon.

I’ve already convinced myself, if my guy doesn’t win, I’ll buck up and support his opponent. I really dislike my guy’s opponent, though. But either candidate is better than Gerry.

  27. [...] it is not easy to determine Too Conservative’s political leanings. Thus, the latest post, About the banner and tomorrow’s primary. It begins: For the record, neither myself or Loudoun Insider have anything to do with the banners [...]

    Brian,
Good Luck on Tuesday! I hope to see you at Pat’s victory party Tuesday night. I’ll be there with our mutual friends from Herndon/OakHill. We’ll all be tired, but happy! It’s a big step toward again having a republican Congressman in the 11th! Hope your Mrs. is hanging in there!
