Hmmm… well LL, before I go try to prove something to you, perhaps you could tell me what you consider to be a “key player”. If we agree on that, then we can move to step two.

Barbara, it’s clear you either can’t or won’t get what the event in Washington was about on Saturday — which is fine — because it was about a hundred different things. I’m sure you (independently, mind you, you wouldn’t be caught dead reading some mean ol’ echo chamberish thing) will be able to find a colostomy-bag-with-a-Hitler-mustache poster.

I went for reason 72: fun.

  • Loudoun Lady says:

I suppose they’d have to be a member of the GOP in some official capacity, Ed. If you can prove Rush has some official capacity within the GOP, you might have some proof.

eb, see the 9th photo down (two down from “Fear the Poo–I poop a lot”), which has what looks pretty much like a used bag to me, with the photo of the bag on the poster labelled “Palin et al”.

That’s a Lowell Kelley selection, so I guess it has some gravitas, right?

and here’s MSNBC with the poster of Palin etc with the ‘staches.

Since it’s MSNBC, that definitely has chops, right?

  • Barbara Munsey says:

Agreed eb that lots of differing groups were there, which does dilute the message.

The Cali pro pot people were there, Huffington bused down people from NY (anybody see that heartbreaking squib on Yahoo news that a NY Alzheimer’s patient was missing on the mall after the rally? Please don’t tell me she was on a bus), the unions, etc.

I get that there was a rally, and it was ironic.

I get that they weren’t knocking on doors or making phone calls.

I wonder why they didn’t cross the river and recap the 60s effort to levitate the Pentagon.

    Take care tomorrow, eb.

  • Barbara Munsey says:

yeesh. Apparently the poor woman DID come on a bus for the rally.

Haven’t seen followup whether they found her. Sad.

  • edmundburkenator says:

“Give it up, hon. If you have to work so hard, it isn’t working.”

    Still a good thought.

  • Barbara Munsey says:

Gee, it wasn’t when I said it to buff, was it.

So, you’re annoyed that I provided you not only with the links you demanded, but good solid progressive ones to boot?

    Sorry.

It wasn’t hard work at all, eb.

So, how ’bout them bags and ‘staches?

  • edmundburkenator says:

Barbara, you really don’t get me do you…

I don’t like ANY mean ol’ echo chamber. Left wing nuts or right wing nuts, they’re all nuts to me.

The fact that there were bad signs at a rally of 200K should not surprise you — whether it’s a Glenn Beck rally, a Tea Party rally, a Sanity rally, or a CareBear rally (I saw CareBears at the rally).

I think your ability (and ease) to find “bags and staches” was one of the main points of the rally: stop claiming the outliers are the rule — they’re OUTLIERS!

I don’t recall making a demand of you, but I’ll go reread the thread.

And lastly, you don’t annoy me at all.

  • Barbara Munsey says:

    Maybe I don’t, eb.

I’m willing to consider the possibility!

As I’ve said before, it’s hard on a drive by basis, where tone is not always implicit, and hence (sometimes wrongly) inferred.

    Peace!

(and I’m aware you’ll see just about anything at any downtown rally–born in DC, grew up here, went to school here)

  • edmundburkenator says:

I too was born in DC. GWU Hospital here.

LL, Rush doesn’t enjoy an “official” position within the party to my knowledge. But neither does Bill Kristol, and no one would consider him anything but a “key player” in the party. The same could be said for most of the staff at AEI or Cato. I think there are a few key players in those places.

  • Barbara Munsey says:

Georgetown for me, Columbia Hospital for Women for my husband.

  • Loudoun Lady says:

Bill Kristol is not a “key” player, he works for the Weekly Standard and is a commentator. I am scatching my head at your analysis and wondering who the hell is a “key player” from organizations from the left? Please continue.

  • edmundburkenator says:

Bill Kristol is those things and also a consultant to Palin. If you don’t think Kristol has access to the power players in Washington (really, they have access to him), you are not paying attention.

Are you going to tell me Palin is not a key player?
