Stewart would be the first of the local nutcases to breakout and attempt National office. God help us.
He is rather a pompous ass. He’s also wrong about Allen’s base. He’s obviously running, why would he say he’s waiting a year to decide? By then, it’ll be all over but the shouting.
Corey Stewart is a good man and far from pompous. If you have ever talked to him, heard him talk or are familiar with him in any way besides throwing rocks – you’d know this. 2012 is going to be very interesting in Virginia.
You’re right. This video is the only evidence I have. And he sounds pompous to me. But I’m not exactly throwing rocks, just a softball at what I heard him say. I don’t have anything else to go on. You’re also right about 2012. But I meant what I said, Stewart is nuts not to come out strong soon and not wait until the seeds are sown by others.
I know Corey and he is a good man and will make a good candidate . He is also willing to lead on important issues. George Allen too is a good candidate. I don’t believe his base has left but it has shifted. To suggest that a base stays in place with this much time having passed is naive. He can rebuild however he will have to be able to do so while in a primary against at least two strong challengers.
It is my hope that Allen has a fresher team around him than last time. He got some really crummy advice after the Macca incident. he spent all his time trying to placate the Washington Post by apologizing every ten minutes. Shut up with the apologizes already move on, take control of the debate.
I agree with Stone and I’m convinced George Allen would have won that election if he had told the WashPost to shove it, taken control of the talking points/issues and stopped apologizing for “the incident”. I’ve been a supporter of George Allen’s for years and I wish him well.
FWIW LW, Corey Stewart is a straight shooter. I’ve never heard him dance around issues – he is not pompous in the least. What I believe you are detecting is real straight talk, not the McCain crap.
If being a nutcase means throwing illegal aliens out of your jurisdiction, then I want more nutcases in Loudoun
Corey Stewart is a buffoon, there are hours of evidence on You Tube. Check it out. He’s a fear mongerer, and out for his own glory. Not much backbone with that guy, he’s just taking advantage of the gene pool in his jurisdiction. I am sure he’s very popular there, but no chance he extends his “appeal” to other parts of the state.
Stoner, we agree. I hope for a new fresh start for Allen. He has a good shot at winning if he can establish a policy oriented appeal. He’s a very personable guy, the Macca incident was most unfortunate. Regardless of his ability to over come past labels he will toast Stewart in a state wide race.
Allen has serious electability issues in the Commonwealth. The party needs new blood.

Like it or not, Allen is clearly running. In a Republican primary he will be formidable. Especially if it is a crowded field.
He may be the easiest candidate to beat in the general election, but I wouldn’t bet against him in the primary.

Everyone seems to forget that Marshall and potentially 2-4 other candidates will enter this field. This will not be a race between Allen and CS.
Shaun Kenney really went off the deep end on Stewart, accusing him of being anti-Catholic as well as anti-Hispanic for his desire to curb ILLEGAL immigration. Wow.

I love it when leftists call a Republican “unelectable” – let us all recall the these same chants over KC. Please, please, please – keep underestimating Marshall’s appeal and overestimating his detractors.
Shaun is not stupid, but because he lives amidst the rolling hills of central Virginia he is just badly uninformed on the subject of the effects of illegal immigration. He has no direct experience and will never have to worry about a boarding house opening up next door. There are people in Ashburn afflicted by the same myopia.
Shaun is a friend of mine and a political ally. But he is dead wrong on this issue.
Joe, my opinion is no one is saying there isn’t an illegal immigration problem or awareness of it, the complaint is leveled at Stewart and his tactics.
Personally, I am well aware of boarding house issues. We have them in Ashburn as well.

Well, I just listened to the Corey Stewart video and I did not hear the least thing questionable about him or his “tactics.” BlackOut, I guess you are saying if I search the Web I will learn all the bad stuff about Corey Stewart via his videos? Ok , will check it out when I have a chance and let you know what I find.
