    Disgusting and revolting. Shame.

  • Loudoun Insider says:

I will never understand why trying to control ILLEGAL immigration into this country (one with over 10% unemployment I might add) is “disgusting and revolting” or shameful. Doing nothing and allowing the status quo of basically no controls is shameful, and expecting people to go through the proper channels to enter this country, and to pay consequences if they do not, is perfectly acceptable in my book, and in that of a majority of Americans.

  • nicholas says:

LI, as I think we’ve discussed before, the issue here is tone and tenor. Do I believe laws should be enforced? ABSOLUTELY. But when the rant against “illegals” takes on a sheen of malice, bigotry, and ethnic targeting – it gives me the creeps and makes me disgusted with the climate and the discourse. Its being used as a gross and tactless ‘wedge’ issue to score political points, NOT reach viable policy solutions. This is a federal issue that requires a federal solution. I do not believe states and counties should form their own anti-illegals militias. Now, just because the feds havent gotten their act together doesn’t mean its time for a 50-state, patchwork of confusing and likely countermanding laws. Corey wants to turn VA into Arizona, and that is just wrong and misplaced. Put pressure on our Delegation in DC to act. Focus energy there. But, as a proud bilingual whose mother was also an immigrant for years before she became a citizen in 1993, I’ve seen from experience how the message from the likes of Corey has pernicious and horrific adverse affects on not just legal immigrants here but spills over to other ethnic groups in the US as well…

  • Loudoun Insider says:

I’ll agree that Stewart is an opportunistic politician, but after years of waiting, I am with the many who believe that the feds simply will not or cannot do this correctly. If that means states need to step in to the gap, than so be it. Either way, this forceful approach is finally producing some limited results. Without this pressure there would be no progress on border security, guaranteed.

  • G. Stone says:

It worked in PWC and it will work in Va as a whole. Taking offense with the task at hand or this specific appeal is manufactured disgust. This address like the actual legislation passed in PWC is fact based, has passed justice Dept scrutiny and most important it is working. To ignore its success or pretend to be “disgusted” is simply a way to avoid the obvious. Those on the other side have lost the battle of ideas and facts and can now only resort to misdirection.

Nicholas your response is void of thoughtful consideration of the facts and built on a foundation of myth and misinformation.

  • edmundburkenator says:

“But, as a proud bilingual whose mother was also an immigrant for years before she became a citizen in 1993, I’ve seen from experience how the message from the likes of Corey has pernicious and horrific adverse affects on not just legal immigrants here but spills over to other ethnic groups in the US as well…”

Sounds really mythic and misinformed, G.

Nicholas, what would you do to confront this problem? Putty pressure on our reps in Congress… ok… but to do what?

Do you support the DREAM Act?

  • edmundburkenator says:

    Putting, not Putty

  • Greg L says:

Someone donate to Corey’s campaign quickly so they can buy him a lapel microphone for his video camera. This sounds like it was recorded inside an oil tank.

C’mon, if three people chip in ten bucks, his next video will sound a WHOLE lot better! Who’s with me?

  • BlackOut says:

Stewart has no credibility with me to consider anything he says with out being skeptical. He’s a hate mongered out for his own self interest.

  • BlackOut says:

Neither does the hate merchant Greg L.

  • BlackOut says:

    A warning to the masses!

Either be interested in politics or be ruled by your inferiors………Plato

  • G. Stone says:

Ed there you are cherry picking again. Nice try. How about this ? Will this do ?
The big myth, the big lie is nothing can be done at the local level. Nothing can be done without the Feds. Granted, overall it is the Feds responsibility. However, as proven in PWC, local jurisdictions can take common sense steps to help mitigate the effects of Illegals on states, counties and towns. The legislative package passed in PWC worked. It was successful, thus the reason it is hated by some on the other side of the issue. It takes away their number one excuse for doing nothing. It proves that local governments can force illegals to migrate to other locals by using the tools that law and zoning enforcement provide. Granted this tends to work at the local county level best. States initiatives must have a larger employer component in order to be successful.

  • G. Stone says:

    “own anti-illegals militias.”

Myth, propaganda and frankly insulting to anyone who has looked at the issue for more than 3 minutes.

  • G. Stone says:

“Put pressure on our Delegation in DC to act.”

You gotta be kidding me. This is naive given the history. This would be an OK statement by someone who had just emerged from living in a cave for 20 years. However, anyone with ANY real knowledge on the issue and objective observation of the political process as it pertains to Illegals would know it to be meaningless so far.

  • BlackOut says:

Stoner, there is no conclusive proof that PW County’s efforts were successful. In fact, the report pointed out some very revealing skepticism to the PW approach.

We’ve been around this barn before. Hypocritical of you to call ED a cherry picker, as you’re pretty good at it.

  • Loudoun Lady says:

There is proof BO, I’ll dig up the links on the schools, hospitals and social services for PWC maybe after Xmas. You are intellectually lazy, so I will help you out – but I have too much to do today. Hint, it’s a fairly easy Google search.

Local Officials know, and the honest ones admit, 50% of realizing differences in moving those illegals that are breaking laws and costing the locality $$ (schools, jails, police, social services) is the “move along” method – or inviting them to go to a more friendly county. Why do you think some of the most violent counties along the border and “sanctuary cities” are sinking under their own weight financially and losing the legal citizens.

As for Nicholas – the differences between 1993 and 2010 are vast in relation to illegal immigration, the costs and the policies. I know plenty of people here legally, waiting 7-10 years to become citizens, while the immigration systems are clogged with illegal cases. I’m happy it all worked out for your family, you should count your blessings.

  • BlackOut says:

LL, I’ve read the entire third party report/study. You should do that instead of worrying about nipping at me.

Additionally, we have debated this exact issue to great length already. To including a significant discussion on if or how much of an impact the PW effort had on schools and social services. I don’t recall anything on hospitals. That must have been something else Corey made up to support his political ambitions. BTW, your second paragraph is nothing but a bunch of made up BS. Nothing new there.

  • G. Stone says:

    BO

Your predisposed to be against any progress on this issue in that Cory Stewart’s position would be enhanced. You are simply to vested in the politics of personality that those for whom you have an issue or dislike could never be right even if they were to state to you at 12;00 noon it was daylight. Your response would be they were wrong in that it was dark in Australia. You simply have no credibility and anyone with the common sense greater than a bucket of lug nuts would ignore you. Some enjoy tweeking and engaging you for entertainment purposes, however it rarely moves the argument.

  • BlackOut says:

Stoner, what does that little rant of yours have to do with the third party report on this issue which we debated to great lengths? You know the one, the one you tried to claim proved Corey was worthy of hero status. Then when someone actually read it to you (me) and proved the report was not conclusive and actually speculated about some serious issues with the Corey approach you changed the subject the same way you are doing now.

You know the stuff, the stuff that you wanted to ignore because it wasn’t convenient for you and your view.

  • G. Stone says:

“Some enjoy tweeking and engaging you for entertainment purposes, however it rarely moves the argument.”

    I repeat.

  • Linda B says:

Want some proof that local enforcement works, outside of PWC? Here, BO, let me Google that for you:

Absolute fucking bullshit. LL’s revisionist racist wet panty fantasy.

The border cities and so called sanctuary cities are the safest communities in the US-

Good deal. I just signed three more folks up to Virginia’s Rule of Law.
And I’m recruiting five more the week before New Year’s.

  • The Bulletproof Monk says:

AFF, I’ll take El Paso for $1000, champ.
Spread that horseshit somewhere lese. I’ve seen the Texas problem in first person, dude. I’ve provided security for Federal Prosecutors who had to be escorted to and from the Federal building and have their homes protected. That was back 1n 1995. It’s five times worse, now.
Further, Montgomery County is now wrestling with the overweighted services demanded by the illegals who fled PWC after Corey’s law withstood the legal test, and the illegals self-deported to Montgomery.
You need to get out more. Your life is very sheltered.

  • Chris says:

*Further, Montgomery County is now wrestling with the overweighted services demanded by the illegals who fled PWC after Corey’s law withstood the legal test, and the illegals self-deported to Montgomery.*

MontCo is dealing with a hell of a lot of problems of its own making, which tends to happen when you have a lockstep all-Democratic (since 2006) county council and a dysfunctional Republican Party, but this isn’t one of them.

The studies showed where Corey’s emmigrants went, and there was no huge MontCo migration.

Immigration will be the death of the Republican Party. But hey, we can feel sanctimonious and proud, right? Screw those Hispanic voters!

  • The Bulletproof Monk says:

Chris… spewing your talking points without active backup is just mind-numbing. Your, not ours.
The study actually indicated that the ILLEGAL element got the hell outta dodge. The studies illustrated exactly what these illegals were costing us in education, jobs and hospital emergency services….among other things.
You’re actually typing against a contractor who has seen first hand the erosion of my business and others due to an ILLEGAL competition that has neither insurance , or ability to compete…. And is undercutting my pricing by a full 2/3rds. Because I have to maintain full worker’s comp and General Liability on all of my work….and they will not. Because they are illegal, and doing so would expose them. Now, double that lack of insurance to the ones who are operating motor vehicles in the Commonwealth without even so much as a license and the testing required to recieve one.
As far as the Republicans in the County and State understanding the latino voting block??? I run one of the segments of LEGAL Latino outreach. Similarly, I run a segment of the LEGAL outreach to a number of ethnicities in Loudoun and Fairfax Counties. Ant there is more than enough interest by LEGAL and conservative Latinos, Asians and African Americans to make the effort worthwhile, dude. Educate yourself on the issue and stop offering your uninformed opinion as a substitute.

  • G.Stone says:

    AFF

Your ElPaso link proves what ? Nothing, so what Elpaso is safe. In your world ElPaso is a safe border town so therefore all border towns are Elpaso. Utter nonsense.

Go talk to the Arizona Sheriffs Assoc and get back to us on the safety of border towns in that state.

  • AFF says:

    Monk,

You’re an asshole. Go puff out your chest, drive around in your converted army vehicle and talk about beating up fags during your military service to someone who gives a shit ….. and fucking save your “hiding behind an anonymous handle” for someone who isn’t willing to look you in the eye and call your bullshit in public.

The facts don’t lie. While many like Stone, LL, and apparently you continue to spread the lies about danger in the border communities, high immigrant crime levels and overwrought “sanctuary cities”, don’t expect people to meekly agree when there is overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

  • The Bulletproof Monk says:

AFF (because if I actually type your name, LI will just nix it –and besides, I’d have never called you out, because to me you aren’t anonymous, because you’ve identified yourself to me at other times)
What I am telling you, and what you’ve deliberately overlooked, is that I’m not citing another source on the danger of bordertowns. I’ve actually been there.I suppose that folks in Virginia don’t understand that I had passed the entrance test for a Border Patrol Agent and was invited to attend training in Ga. for placement back in El Paso.
I suppose you glanced right over the part where I lived with a Special Prosecutor for the US Attorney’s Office in El Paso and I had a rather large vehicle there, too. I used it to run interference for her when she drove to work. I had to stop my workday when it was time to go get her for the drive home, too. And I had an arsenal and slept light, in case they stormed the house for her in the night, too. I’ve been to the area that I speak of. I lived there for four long years. And then I moved to ANOTHER border town.
Wanna get worked up over my “talk about beating up fags during your military service” ?? First off, you’d have to find someone to confirm that I’ve actually spoken the first word of the garbage that you’ve put in my mouth. Secondly, I’d refer you to the same place I sent Eric, 1/2 troll.
Looking thru the many pages here, and there’s the story of one of my mentors. A gay, conservative, and extremely good business manager whom I respect more than some of my current friends. Your overplay of the “gaybashing card” just proves to me and many others your deep-seated hatred of a perception….that you’ve never met. Except in your own mind.

  • The Bulletproof Monk says:

PS…. That was the “cakewalk” of 1994. These days, one may actually need a tank to transport the prosecutors to the courthouse and federal building. The drug cartels certainly have them now.

  • Chris says:

    *Your, not ours.*

You’re right, Monk. I’m not. I’m hopelessly condemned to RINOville, never to receive the praise of such luminaries as Christine O’Donnell, Champion of True Conservatism. I am in awe of your achievements. Perhaps with much effort I can one day aspire to be as pure as you.

  • The Bulletproof Monk says:

Boy, are you barkin’ up the wrong tree, son. Never ceases to amaze me of the political novice’s attention to detail. I fought the puritans in the last bout…and if they go as far as to get out of line….I’ll do it again.
I’m on record as sayig (typing) that Christine Odonnell was the funniest punchline that the TEA Party could have thrown, and was a trainwreck of an idea from the day she was nominated.
Catch up….because at this moment, you’re absolutely wrong in every assumption I’ve seen you make about my origins.

  • The Bulletproof Monk says:

An itemized list for your consumption….

“The school lunch program saved a bundle in that they did not have to feed breakfast and lunch to the illegals’ children in the schools, the cost of hiring bilingual teachers to communicate with these children dropped, Title 8, and housing subsidies also dropped, food stamps were cut back, and hospital emergency rooms could now treat emergencies instead of treating the illegals and their families for any and all ailments that are normally treated by the family doctor.

The cost of free or subsidized transportation dropped, the cost of childbirth by illegals dropped, the cost of housing illegal criminals in jails and prisons in the county and state dropped. I am only scratching the surface. I am sure there are a lot more ways we have saved money by booting out the illegals.”

  • The Bulletproof Monk says:

Please note, that any “LEGAL” immigrant has passed governing and constitution knowledge educations and tests that make most Americans pale by comparison.
I have no problem with those who did it the right way.

  • Loudoun Lady says:

    Glad I left this discussion.

BO, Nobody is “nipping” at you, you are just wrong and lazy about research. Just because you say it is not true, does not make it so. You are indeed a legend in your own mind.

“Absolute fucking bullshit. LL’s revisionist racist wet panty fantasy.”

AFF, you have real anger issues. Right up there with NJSM and BO’s misogynistic replies to me. It is so utterly stupid that you have to include “racist wet panty fantasy” in your posts, almost as stupid as BO’s nippy chiwawa crap. The 3 of you need a bar of soap in your mouth, or better yet, a smack on the nose from a dog trainer.

  • G.Stone says:

    AFF
You have both anger and language issues. Get back on your meds.

  • Cato the Elder says:

AFF needs to meet my good friend Chubbs! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0KJMO5vZXzk

  • Chris says:

Monk, you started off by saying I’m not one of you. You’re thus no better than Ms. O’Donnell or any of the other self-appointed High Preists of Modern-Day Conservatism. So frankly I don’t give a damn what you think and I’m sure the feeling is mutual.

  • The Bulletproof Monk says:

    “High Preists of Modern-Day Conservatism”
You make sure you run that quote by JoAnne Chase and Lil’ Jackie Ryan. BE SURE THAT YOU ATTACH MY NAME TO IT in that context….
    IMAGOGETSOMEPOPCORN!!!!

  • The Bulletproof Monk says:

    “overwhelming evidence to the contrary”.
Do tell. Do liberals have a printing service where they “publish” the absurd, now??
