Chance Of Success – Zero Point Zero

By Loudoun Insider

That’s my comment to the announcement in the LTM of Democrat Tom Bellanca running for Chairman of the Board against Scott York.

I just have to copy and paste this here before (hopefully) the LTM deletes this classy attempt by the Dems to support Bellanca:

Wow, the Loudoun Dems are really pulling out all the stops for Bellanca.

I love it when conservatives like McIntosh and Loudoun Insider lick the inside side of my scrotum! Mmmmmm mmmmm tasty! It’s not ghey though!

Chance of success – zero point zero.

“. . . involved in state and federal campaigns, including Terry McAuliffe . . .” Bill Bradley, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama.

Ummm, no thanks. . . but you already knew that. LOL.

LI, give me a break. Please. Gross.
It was down as of 8:05pm. This is like “Whack-A-Mole”. We try.

  • Barbara Munsey says:

I wondered why Larry Roeder was running in whatever Dulles turns out to be, and not charming Tom.

He is MUCH LOVED by many down here.

As I recall he ran for congress back in 2000?, from a Reston area district–moved to Lenah Run in about 07.

Scott York will absolutely clean his clock, without even looking up from winding his own.

  • Loudoun Insider says:

NG, I don’t blame you at all, and that was quick, but it must be preserved just to show the desperation!

  • Frobisher says:

Heard Bellanca has been being recruited by the Loudoun Dems for months to run for chairman.

  • Eric the 1/2 troll says:

Nobody on either side will touch Scott York – good thing too.

  • Frylock says:

Good letter in the LTM by Mr. Bellanca:

The title, “Time for new leadership in Loudoun”, is spot on. It’s time for York (and Burton) to go. After reading the letter, it sounds like he may siphon votes away from York and open the door for a Republican win.

  • Loudoun Insider says:

That letter is the best he can do???

  • BlackOut says:

Frylock I saw that letter when it first came out. So he’s bitching about how things are…nothing in there tells me what he wants to do or what experience he has doing it. It’s barely thought provoking.

  • Frylock says:

BO, it’s a letter to the editor. What did you expect, a 10,000 word document detailing his position on every issue?

  • Loudoun Watcher says:

    Frylock, in a word, yes.

  • edmundburkenator says:

I’m confused as to why this letter to the editor gets published. I thought there was a LTM policy about declared candidates and letters to the editor.

He could have brought a bit more substance Frylock.

  • Frylock says:

Edmund – I think his letter made it clear he wants to continue the failed policy of trying to operate the county as two separate counties. He will get a lot of votes from the “There’s no room for anybody else after I moved here” types. How he plans to fill all those vacant office buildings is a good question and I look forward to hearing what he has to say. Many members of the current Board promised to reduce taxes by building up the commercial tax base, but they have completely failed to do so. I think any strategy to attract more business has to start with lowering the tax rate.

BTW, Edmund, George Mason now has the longest win streak in the nation at 13 and can lock up the CAA regular season title with one more win. This is a team that could be a real March Cinderella story, just like the final-four team 5 years ago.

  • edmundburkenator says:

George Mason is hot and is a shoe in for an at large bid. They might even get a 7 seed if they do well in the CAA tourney. I would like to see the CAA get three in, but the only way for that to happen would be for VCU to win the conference tournament.

Edmund, your post merits a response re: Letters to Editor at LTM. I appreciate your raising it.

The answer is, yes…that’s true. HOWEVER, at the time that Mr Bellanca sent us and we published his letter (Feb 2) he was NOT a declared candidate for Chair of BOS. That’s a big and important difference.

That being noted, and now he is a declared candidate as of today (I checked with Judy Brown at the Board of Elections), it changes the dynamic and ethical paradigm, so we will be vigilant on LtE’s from him – or any other candidate who has formally filed, D or R or I, henceforth.

Hope this helps and thanks for raising an important and timely issue. – NJG
