The Real Redistricting Plan

By Lloyd the Idiot

We’ve all seen this pathetic, gerrymandered mess proffered by Janet Howell and other Senate Democrats

Now, compare that to what the Governor’s Redistricting Commission has developed.

What a refreshing change.  Thank goodness we have some adults in Richmond.  With any luck, and some solid citizen support, this map should pass the GA.

Much better than the self serving pols of both parties did. I thought the college student teams did much better as well. Oh well, we’ll see who wins in the end. I’m betting on the self interested pols, unfortunately.

  • Chris says:

Well, he would only need two Democratic votes in the Senate . . . possibly John Edwards and John Miller – who both would have incumbent Republicans with money and organizations behind them in Ralph Smith and Frank Wagner?

  • The Shadow (redux) says:

Frankly the LCDC should be ashamed horridly of themselves. Their plan is nothing but self-serving and royal screws ALL residents of Loudoun. As I said on another thread, I hope the DOJ flags this plan. Based on the (census) numbers and demographic info I reviewed it seems there are several violations.

  • NotJohnSMosby says:

I’m shocked that Republicans would prefer a plan that packs Dems into fewer Senate districts and would lead to an automatic Republican majority in the Senate after this years elections. And the elimination of the VRA-mandated majority-minority Congressional district as well. Awesome, I’m sure you’ll get some Democratic support for that – not.

  • Frylock says:

This is an outrage. It looks like the majority of People’s Republic of Arlington will be confined to one Senate district. Most of those D votes will be wasted on just one Senator. That is not fair!

  • RWN says:

Great job from Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling telling the Senate Dems: “No, we ain’t gonna take it” on their gerrymander…

  • Loudoun Insider says:

Now that’s a perfect example of why I am through with party politics, RWN! The House plan is just as bad, but not a peep from Bolling on that. Typical partisan bullshit. I’d have alot more respect for him if he came out and panned both plans, as he should.
