Stewart For Chairman

Well the Convention has come and past.
I was back in Virginia for about a week, and now I am back in Texas.
I wanted to congratulate Supervisor Stewart for winning the convention, and wish him luck into November. He has my full support, and I hope he will come on TC for a live-blog chat.

Supervisor Stewart is the only choice for PWC Chairman.
Before I had ever met Supervisor Stewart, I disliked him immensely. I had phenomenal disdain for his apparent lack of principles and support for the County’s agenda. I was convinced he was using the PW political arena to promote his right wing conservative agenda. I listened to rambling complaints from fellow Chamber members, community leaders and trusted business partners. Then a fellow Chamber member introduced me to Supervisor Stewart at a reception. With great reluctance on my part to be seen even speaking to him. I decided to throw out a few blows asking point blank why he opposed raising local taxes and failed to vote for rezoning and development that would obviously benefit the county. He talked, I listened and as I listened I began to realize that the people who had influenced my negative opinion weren’t giving me all the facts or didn’t have all the information themselves. Supervisor Stewart had his facts in order, he was smart, consistent, well informed, supportive of business growth, improving education standards, using technology along with building roads to ease traffic congestion and shared many of the same values that I believed in as a hard working, self employed, over taxed Republican.
Since then I’ve gotten to know Supervisor Stewart, not only as a community leader but as a person. We share a mutual desire for improving the quality of life in PWC and I truly believe that Supervisor Stewart is sincere and passionate in his commitment to Prince William. He is an honest, hard working family man that will truly stay the course in making our County a safe and prosperous community. I recommend you elect Mr. Stewart this November and even after he takes office don’t believe everything you hear. If you want the facts, call him directly, he’ll always make time for you, answer your questions honestly and listen to your concerns. Vote for Chairman Stewart and even after the election I encourage you to stay involved by attending B of S meetings or watching them on Comcast.

I have to say, that I could not agree with you in 100% regarding Stewart For Chairman, but it’s just my opinion, which could be wrong
